Well.. some key shops sell even more cheap, but GOG version.
Retail DVD version is GOG version if you didn't know, files on the DVD are exactly the same files you download from GOG store and the key in the box is redeemed on GOG for extra goodies.

And buying the DVD is a bonus in which one can have two version at once, one from the DVD and the other one from GOG as digital download, for free. The DVD can be used to install the game without internet connection, and should the discs be lost or damaged, the digital download redeemed on GOG will be provided as a free backup copy. The same thing works for the DVD copy of the first and second Witcher game.

installed these drivers, at least mine improved, i only play at 30fps lock on my lowly card and there are still areas that bring my fps down to 23-25fps (particularly crossroad inn in velen). Now its gone and have some performance to spare.

I can confirm the 353.06 works great without problems with my GTX 980 SLI. The Witcher 3 performance improves and stuttering is gone, probably because of the updated SLI profile. TDR problem is solved too, because I could play The Witcher 3 for at least 2 hours without crash or TDR or system lockup. But the best thing is I can use the driver to work too since Photoshop and Lightroom no longer trigger TDR when working with big size files and raw images. So far so good. I am very happy and satisfied with the results. It looks like I can keep 353.06.

Good job, NVIDIA!

Damn after playing for more than an hour i can say the improvement of the new nvidia driver is HUGE. 5fps buff in worst case while I now use HBAO instead of SSAO. I am mostly around 60fps and rarely going down to 48-50fps. The upcoming path 1.05 says there are more performance gains from their part too... cant wait

I think there's enough ground for a full re-benching of this game that was done here:

Yeah, dodge works well. Took on a level 22 Beastie (I'm only 10) and won, after about 10 mins of non stop gameplay. Almost came a cropper when a couple of random level 5 dogs starting attacking. As soon as you're outnumbered it becomes 'run away' time. Though I wish when you ran away, it wouldn't auto focus you on combat. PITA.

I noticed it ran a bit smoother as well when I updated the driver. Although I usually tend to think those things are just in my mind.... But it seems to have helped from what I can tell.

I've noticed its best to not target any enemy if they are in a group so you can move the camera freely etc... that has seemed to work the best for me, and it always you to run away if need be.

If you press the button to run, it will stop auto-targeting when you haven't used auto-focus button. If you have trouble with multiple low level enemies, just wait till you level up enough to get the spinning fast attack ability from the red talents or just throw them a flammable bomb (if its monsters) or a poisonous gas bomb if its humans (humans die VERY VERY fast from poison bombs)

Well, in my case, i always try to test it on an area where i got huge drops, along with an FPS counter to see numbers and it did improved.

The side quests in here are so well developed. I got to Novigrad about 24 hours of gameplay ago, and am still on what I think is the last side quest. Thing is, they just go on and on...I love it! The plots and intricacies are so very well written and interwoven, and they don't go light on the content just because they are side quests! I actually dont want this to end, which i know it will at some point.

Isn't there supposed to be several expansions for the game? That ought to keep you entertained for awhile. They seem to be on a 4 year between game releases cycle so there's plenty of time to release expansions.

I am feeling the same exact way... this game is definitely claiming the spot for the most addicting game I have ever played at least this year.... Its like a whole bunch of games I have played before combined into one mega awesome game that decided to go all out and include as much as they could.

I think it'd be a good idea to put in TW3 into the rotation on all new graphics cards reviews when the R9 390X drops later this month. I want to get TW3 but I don't want to start it on my R9 290 even though I know it's more than playable. I'm dying to see what R9 390 and R9 390X can do with this game. C'mon W1zzard, u can do eeet!!

The upgrade bug is having a raging fiery in me for that 980ti. Not as much as when the 780 launched and I busted a nut after reading Wiz review, and proceeded to by one that morning of launch though. But still.
