Here's some good news for all those beta testers that have been unhappy at the level of bugs in upcoming game, Battlefield 3. Electronic Arts have now released a slew of updates, which should relieve the worst of the problems. The odd crash and framerate stability fixes are just some of the improvements. Head on over to Joystiq for the full rundown.

No, read carefully, those fixes are implemented for game launch, beta is still broken as ever, the only changes we will see at the moment is to get Battlelog working right, and right now they are having fun blocking out people's custom servers.

I guess I am being too hopeful for DICE to give us anymore freebies in their beta :). Just hoped they'd at least give us squad switching :(.

    It´s betaaa

So... people jumped in the BETA bandwagon and thought it would be bug free?

It´s BETA... Hunt Some Bugs For Us... not Come On And Play For A While Before We Launch. :D

they already have but its really shit - If you click the Squad tab. you can choose to leave your squad or find another one. you cant choose which squad you go into. it just selects one at random that has a a vacant slot. If you leave your squad then click 'find squad' 5 seconds later. chances are you'll get re-assigned back to the same squad.

At this juncture i think its just for the beta but the squad system should be fixed when the game is released

You guys gotta realize the build we are playing is well over a month old. Most the problems we have in fact are fixed. They have been fixed weeks ago. This beta is to test net code and battlelog. Not the game itself.

Serious, any half way decent gaming mouse allows you to map key binds off your keyboard. Which should be good for 99% of people, that 1% is mailman who remaps his movement keys to his mouse then makes WASD something else. If you want your knife on your mouse, simple enough for me, open my RAT 7 profile, set any of my mouse buttons to hit key F when pressed. Like I said, buy a better mouse (granted wasn't to you). Example below

Now my thumb scroll will knife, if I want it to.

I like that idea. But problem is, sometimes fixing one bug causes another. And some of these bugs we have found might have only been under the stress from all of the players. So if they go fixing a ton of bugs, it could just open a new can of worms.

I don't think you should judge the quality too much based on the beta. There will be a lot of improvements and refinements in the finished product.

    You know......

I never ever ever ever never ever thought of that - now i can bind the middle button on the side of my mouse (Logitech G500) and assign it a function in game. - In fact. im going though my gaming profiles as we speak.

oh, please pull yourself together with your pro-gimmick "mouse" and visit the nearest clue-shop asap. I'm running game servers and playing competitive fps games since they are exist. I'm not saying I know everything but please(!) don't tell me what I should buy and why because you have clearly no idea whatsoever. FYI: attention whoring != skill

I wonder what could be more important in an FPS game than control, and btw, I want to bind jump to RMB if you are interested.

The biggest issue is one map. :ohwell:
