All of it looks fine to me and seems to be an excellent build.

Might I ask what your intentions with this machine are as we might be able to make a few suggested changes for the better.

Pretty much 4.5-4.7ghz depending would be the max range to expect from that cooler and chip.

Play the latest MMORPG and RTS games on 1920x1080 resolution and perhaps leave some space for future upgrades. I'd like to overclock the CPU and maybe also the GPU.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
500w psu is plenty for a single gpu and overclocking both cpu and gpu... 700w is good for two cards.

BuilD looks good to me really

So I should get a 700W PSU if I'm planning to buy an additional GTX 970?

For two 970s I would go with a 750 watt Seasonic or Corsair but there are other quality brands too. 750 watts will allow headroom for overclocking everything if you decide too. Just make sure that the PSU has two 8 pin connectors as each of the Strix 970s use only one 8 pin connector each.

I would go for Core i7 5820 if i had to buy new pc.

That would put him in a completely different price bracket, and would be so much overkill.

700W is plenty for 2 970's (150W each or 165W max when overclocked) and allowing overclocking of any intel processor even under water. Much above that wattage is overkill...

That said. I would go EVGA Supernova G2 750W. Its the same or better quality as Seasonic and it costs a lot less. ;)

I would rather go with
1. Samsung for the SSD
2. GSkill or Corsair for the RAM.
Didn't have good experience with Kingston.

and why not 8x1 or 8x2 for the RAM? I know 16 GB is overkill for most situations but 8x1 will leave you with a better upgrade path.

Oh shit.. I forgot about going 8x1 with the RAM, but whatever. I did place the order already with Samsung's SSD, Corsair's RAM, EVGA GTX 970 FTW and a 700W be quiet! PSU.

Why would you want to go single channel? Just go with another 2x4GB kit when you want a bit more RAM. 16GB will be ample when the time comes.

I disagree with you on the 16GB being enough for the future.

3 years back until windows 7 x64, people said 4 GB was enough. Now every one says you need at least 8 GB RAM.
Personally i believe 16 GB is a must have, and if you own a board that can use a 32GB RAM you should at least leave a path for full upgrade.

edit:
Secondly there is not a big gain of dual channel memory. You get `10% gain in performance when using internal graphics. but he is using a external graphics card so the gain is not much.

Don't forget a wireless adapter if you're going to be using a wireless router! Assuming you are, that is, it's such an overlooked component when building PC's.
And I think it was the right decision to go with two sticks of 4GB RAM, because dual channel is better than single.

disagree with you on the 16GB being enough for the future.

Minimum of 8GB is the recommended these days, but 16GB is obviously double that (which OP can upgrade to). By the time 32GB becomes the norm (read recommended minimum), DDR3 will have long been replaced by DDR4 and the OP will probably be looking to upgrade the core system again. I have 16GB DDR3 and even the latest games rarely push the entire system to 8GB and beyond(~10GB max, maybe). Only time I need much more than 8GB is with multiple virtual machines with very generous memory allocation. Perhaps poor ports from consoles will lead to increased memory requirements within a year or two, but even then 16GB should still be comfortable enough.

Edit: I've tested system idle memory usage by removing half my RAM before; the difference between 16GB and 8GB memory usage was ~700MB more for the 16GB capacity on idle. Obviously Windows (8.1) sees no need to commit much more to memory, even if it is doubled.
