Problem I have with these top 5/10 articles is its "Their" top X amount, not mine. Every one will probably have a different definition on their top and that goes for everything, not just gaming.

Yes, it's the article writer's favourites, not from some public poll, he says so right here:

    I don't see a problem with that.

Amazing. From the game listed, most of them I've never played at all (mostly because I don't wanna play them are from consoles).

Haven't played any of those games. Only DOOM. And spider mastermind is a sub-boss of one of the sub-episodes.

Meh. Only one video, and the boss just stumbles around while you shoot it?

My cats always look like that... where are they stashing it? And why don't they share!?

A lot of those games I haven't played before so I can't really comment on them lol.

I'd have to say some of my favorite bosses are: Yu Yevon from FFX, Ray vs Rex because of the simple awesome of bringing back mechwarrior to a game as good as MGS4 and also Snake vs Liquid not so much for the interest of the fight itself but because of how well it was produced, scored, and brought all of the games together into one final 5 minute slug fest. I'm in class so concentration is limited. If I think of others that I loved I'll be sure to update.

What an absolute load of crap! Who the f*ck wrote this up? Gawd damn.

Like Jizzler said - only one video and that didn't creep me out or give me a sense of atmosphere. It gave me that sense of impatience and anger that you get when you watch a complete noob play a game that you know you can play better.

What a waste of my time.

Awesome, I think it was worth posting it just for your rant! :rockout: Yeah, I thought the selection of games was a bit off and I hadn't heard of most of them, either.

I think they should have got a real person to do it. And IMO there's nothing wrong with going back to Mega Drive days; since that's where I had most of my fun fighting bosses. The only one I agree with is Portal - that was an epic finisher.

    Prototype
    Duke Nukem 3D
    Contra 3
    Mushihimesama

Had some epic bosses that need recognition.

Portal & DNF, yeah, I'll second that.

The lack of a Final Fantasy and MGS mention has me perplexed.

Boss battles are fun in Painkiller, Quake 2, Serious Sam, Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend and I dunno ... maybe Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. It seems that bosses from Wolfenstein and Unreal didn't impress me at all. And almost forgot of course Blood3D bosses are sick aswel.

Nowhere in this list was there a mention of Demon's Souls. Not one! Seriously? Has this writer ever even played a challenging game?

I like how each boss battle is given a 1-2 sentence explanation. The one that really irked me was #7 (C'Thun). You could write an entire article on why that was one of the most memorable boss fights in MMO--and maybe even Gaming--history. But alas, we get 2 sentences about his demoralizing whisper, with no explanation of how or why he had a leg-up on a number of bosses in that game.

For those that are unaware, C'Thun is historically one of the hardest boss fights (if completed at it's original level) to ever grace WoW. The mechanics were relentless, and left no room for error. What's worse, it was back during 40 man raids, so downing that boss required 40 people, who made no mistakes on the execution. But here's the real kicker, at release, C'Thun was mathematically impossible to kill. People spent weeks trying, and the guys over at (I believe) ElitistJerks took a look at the numbers behind the fight, and discovered you simply could not do it. I think the first couple guilds that even downed that boss had to use a number of exploits to avoid fight mechanics.

Because you can't narrow it down to one boss that is difficult. It's the whole flipping game! If I had to say which boss was the hardest, I would say the cliffs because my guy thought it would be so fun to roll off the cliffs all the time.....

The hardest boss fight in a game is usually not the most memorable.
One of the most, WTF YGBFKM, boss moments was the first boss in the original Painkiller.
He wasn't too hard to defeat once you realized how to take him (and his minions out), but when you first saw the GIANT mofo ... it was pure jaw dropping awesomesauce.

No Kefka boss(?) fight(s) from FFVI ?
No Weapons boss fights from FFVII ?
No King Tonberry boss fights from FFVIII ?
No Yunalesca boss fights from FFX ?
No elite hunts boss fights from FFXII ?
wth is wrong with you man ? :wtf:

That's the most difficult fight ever. I spent 3 days trying to lose to him !!! And I still couldn't do it !

    :respect:
I second that, being a Mega Drive 2 owner my self. I still remember the boss fights from Sonic games, specially the robot Sonic fight, that was a pain. I do also recall the final fight in Streets of Rage 2. Mr.X was it ?
