If we were to form a proper clan then this would work - obviously it would be down to the members themselves to chip in for the servers. but i agree it would get more hits. but it would be very costly for 1 person to foot the bill for multiple game servers & vent/teamspeak.
If TPU had more members that were interested in 'branching out' & making TPU more then just another techsite that pops up on google search im all for it. - just not in CSS, I got sick of awp noobs & fluke AK47 kills (I hate that fucking gun) if it makes you feel any better to say that I got pwnd by better players & couldnt take it so '/ragequit' I then so be it. but real players use p90's & dual elites - at least that was what my 1st choice load out was unless otherwise - bird rifle.
To be honest i think the service would in a way pay for itself. The other thing is that tpu has the ability to host it's own servers instead of pay for another service. I mean i could host a few servers from my house or my office and it'd work fine, the upkeep is really the only thing that is worrisome. But cost i don't think would be an issue. There are plenty of dedicated server setups not hosted by major server companies that are just fine. Tpu has the processing power, i'm pretty sure of that, all they need is someone to mod them, as far as clans, i'd gladly work with those who are looking for a cod4,5,4x2 clan and help mod a server or two. I'm not particularly a good tf2 player but i do have it and have played it, perhaps having some familiar forum buddies to play with will help bring back the spark i never had in that game.
cs:s needs to die imho, i'm tired of cs:s, i feel the game caters to young people with a knack for the console, you can hardly ever just pick up the game and play online and do at all remotely well without tweaking the shit out of your cs:s install. Idk if it's just me, but games like l4d, cod4,5,4x2 are more levelset, there are some great players, and people who love the console, but for the most part everybody just picks it up and plays it.
