They do all need capacitors but they all fire up

Dell Optiplex 745 SFF missing HDD and the bay cover but booting.

Asus P5GC-MX
Booting also.

Asus P5GZ-MX
Booting also.

The only difference between these two Asus boards is that the GZ have a Marvell Gigabit lan.

Brother is an electronic engineer so in his spare time he repair my motheboards.

It's a regular Optical in your 7600 just get a cheap one sata or ide. But sata could offer less air flow resistance which is good in a sff.

Im also a crazy ass mechanic. I can repair anything with an engine in any different ways. My bro used to work for a company after graduating electronic school. The company got bought by Honeywell then they decided to close the factory. He got hired somewhere else after only a month they put him in charge of watching over different production departments but also work in Research and development department making tests and also conceiving plans of the pcb. He could litteraly design power supplies but I still have a shit load of salvaged ones.

Do "state surplus" finds count? :p

You'd be amazed what the good ol' state of Washington "throws away" on a yearly basis. I've found last years model toughbooks with discrete graphics and i7s for ~$225...

1. Congrats on such find!
2. I would say that somebody in the "good ol' state of Washington" deserves jail. Nice waste of budget.

Honestly, that particular one was a gem of a find and not one I can repeat regularly, but I'll keep you guys posted if I do find something worthwhile again...

And yeah, if you ask me our whole state IT system needs some jailtime from what I have seen, an abundance of tax money seems to breed inefficiency on a very criminal level...

My last find was last week were some one had dumped a APC BN600, thought if the battery had gone be able to get one for around $30 but as it turns out battery is fine and gives about 6 minutes on a 100w load.
