I am an AMD only guy, just fyi.

My first PC was Sapphire 5570 gpu, second PC was Sapphire 6950 gpu, and my current PC is a 7970...

just saying these gimmicks from both Nvidia and AMD are just sad... TXAA used on 1 failed MMO... Physx is a joke, need a dedicated Physx card just to run Batman with it on High, and now TressFX from AMD. its all lulz

VG247 source for the video was AGB

    AGB was using EzioCroft video.

AGB is still using EzioCroft video on his site.

EzioCroft or someone felt it was in bad taste for AGB to take credit for something EzioCroft did and had it pulled.

whatever, i hope someone flamed it because of how seriously shitty that hair animation looks (collision box is way off visible texture surface), 3d mark 03 had almost as good one, less dense but more realistic. IN 03.

something I noticed in both videos is that her pony tail is going to get an award for best supporting character.

While I like any sort of advance in graphics, the rest of her hair barely moves (bangs and the sides) yet the pony tail is standing straight out to the side? Just isn't believable at all. It is as if someone has another string tied to the tip of the tail and is pulling on it like a puppeteer!

Have you ever seen a girl out on the beach? Wind does make hair do some things.

It looks alright as long as your not looking sideways, in both videos the hair hangs over her bust as if she had a bust twice the size :/

The constant fluttering is annoying. The butthurt from green camp is cause Laura isn't just their fap model anymore, and it hurts and they feel betrayed that the red camp made their princess look prettier and they want to have green created hair to imagine stroking while the stroke something else.

Erm, the hair looks awesome but with such windforce I expect more motion in the vegetation. In addition, with such a wind panting would sound differently (I think). With other words, this tech overcomplicates matters unnecessarily resulting in a game scene that "convinces" less instead of more.

Edit: oh it did move (vegetation). Oops.

What I think is funny is how everyone expects perfect results right from the get go. These effects are new and within the few years when people start to learn how to use them from what I'm guessing will be universal across all Platforms..aka....Consoles and PC's and it will get better...

PhysX fails because it only for a small niche market within a small niche market. I think with all around support AMD is actually going to succeed where Nvidia failed....

The movement looks fluid, and better than plastic hair used in most other games, I applaud AMD for making this tech available to anyone with GPU acceleration.

The only beef I would have is the direction the hair is moving seems to be opposite to what you would expect from looking at the environment in that video (check the two other pieces of cloth flowing in the opposite direction) but it still is light years ahead of what I've seen on most current games.

Should I laugh or just shake my head that even on tpu half the commenters don't know this isn't an exclusive feature. This is good for both sides.

Don't think anyone has said this was an exclusive feature so far in this thread, and I fully agree with you, this feature is good for all gamers, I see it as a plus, no matter the implementation, it'll probably even get better for future games :)

That's why I posted that one video. That is ran on a GTX680 and 2600k.

And some people said that there is rage from Green side, when there shouldn't be because both sides can do this effect.

Can't wait to get my hands on the retail boxed copy of this game, going to drop by my usual gameshop to grab one. I will install it in my three rigs and see how well or badly each perform....

*Lara Croft gets better looking hair*

*Facepalms when remember they're shrinking her boobs game by game*

But seriously, that's a nice addition. To me, all the details added are beneficial.... let's push those graphics cards!
