Alright so i have 2 8800gts in sli and they use a ton of power. I run a server so my comp is on 24/7 and heck does it cost a lot to run it. Is there anyway i could turn off a gpu without taking it out. Like maybe disabling the second gpus driver so it shuts off?

I think that will be possible only with hybrid cards and i would guess you would also need onboard gpu....

prety sure that in the future it will be much easier since GPU these days can take 100W+ on idle and that is insane
