IDK how many of you saw this on digg this morning, but the twingly screensaver beta is freaking awesome. instead of a basic rss aggregating screensaver, it actually monitors blog posts across the entire globe in real time, with a graphical and geographical layout.

    See it in action!

Works brilliantly on my system, also i can run it in windowed mode on a secondary display. One problem i've encountered is that after i set it as the default screensaver, it reverts to (none) after i close the dialog. But i have a feeling that has to do with my anti-spyware app or something (windows defender.. any workarounds?)

another potential catch: this app catches ALL blog posts on the blogosphere. including ads and the occasional nsfw post... as long as you don't click on it, you're ok.

idk to be pretty. same as any other screensaver, i guess.

but i guess it can be interesting to watch when a major news event happens, have the whole blogosphere light up like a xmas tree.
