Yeah lets face it, they haven't made a good game in years, they won't really be missed

last ubisoft game i bought was ... far cry 2

What ubisoft makes in house ... is the question, i don't care about ubisoft if there's 3rd party game deals , but the point is, there aint any good 3rd parties either :p

I will not act as though I am not disappointed. I am a huge GR, R6, SC, and Far Cry fan and this hurts. I will try my best to refuse the purchase of the console versions... with the exception of R6.... lol

Yeh what newtek said, someone must be smoking something to think pirating on consoles is the same as PC's.

If i am not mistaking, isnt there some underlying hard to duplicate code/firmware between disk to console or something.

Its almost like practically as hard to pirate on consoles, as it is to duplicate money, might be a little of on comparison but the message is there

Erm no, it is not as hard as that....

....it is a royal pain in the arse though with updates and reflashes needing to be done on a regular basis. Bascially you need to both be organised and also need to know what you are doing, not attributes typical of the average console gamer.

That said however, nearly everyone I know has two consoles, one of them hookey (and invariably banned from X-Box live) and one legit console for playing online games with. Thus, the games which they dont want/need to play online get pirated and the online games get bought (not a whole lot different from many peoples attitude to PC games).

.....just saying how it is.

Splinter Cell series was great for a while. Assassin's Creed was good (yet repetative) and all the games succeeding it were great IMO. R6V was good and 2 was alright. The MP for those were the great thing about it. Or even just the skirmish against the computer. Had hours of fun with that.

Besides, this is old news and it was covered by one of the news guys. They arent cutting off PC all together. Just so happens to be this particular title. Which is really no big loss. I never really liked any of the Ghost Recon games anyway.

actually im a big fan of ubi. loved assassins creed like ghost recon (first FPS games iv ever played) however as of late. I just cant DRM is rediculous. and you cant say shit like that without expecting to lose a user base, that said they said it, they knew, and theirfor PC gamers have been dead to ubi for a long time now.

My first experience with Ubisoft was Heros of Might and Magic.
Wow that was some crap.

Then personally they redeemed themselves with the Assassin's Creed franchise.
Other than that, I can not think of any other games Ubisoft has released which I have found memorable.

Oh that's right, the other thing I find memorable is the DRM of Assassin's Creed II.

Ive never really understood why people bitched about the always online DRM. Sure it sucks if youre on dialup but if youre not who cares? If you buy it, youre fine, if you pirate it, theres a way around it so it doesnt matter either way. I personally think people were bitching just to bitch and because they heard the three little letters of "DRM." and it made everyones vagina cry.

you must have a perfect isp who never makes a mistake. The only thing worse about some blockhead breaking your net is losing game progress and not being able to play a single player game because some douche at cox forgot to route to your area when doing updates.

sure it's no biggie most of the time. I have it on dragon age origins and most of the time i don't notice it. But when all of the sudden your game tells you that your add on content can't be displayed because it can't find the internet it's pretty damned annoying.

if it's a single player game I shoudn't have to always be on the net to play it.

no internet and no games make yogurt somethin somethin...

from what I have seen the always on DRM made people pirate assassins creed II even more, thats why I think it was 100% fail, and I know for a fact that DRM made more people pirate the game.

This is what I gathered as well.
I found it unreasonable consoles did not have this yet PC did.

They recently released that Rocksmith, which i think is pretty cool. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was good, revelations is pretty good. they are adding stuff to it - but that is the developer, these are two exceptions to the ubisoft rule. they ruined PoP and splinter cell, and will ruin AC given the chance.

what really bugs me: they release crappy ports to pc months after it's been on console, and then act surprised when people don't buy it. where do they get off? it plays and looks better on console, so i buy on console - now for the one game (ghost recon) i'd want on pc they won't give me that option? and it's my fault somehow? not for pirating, but for not buying i'm a pirate? what?

FarCry2 is crap, IMO. At first it seemed really cool but the gameplay soon becomes very repetitive.

As for the splinter series, i liked them all except Double Agent. I really love Conviction because of the new stuff you can do that are not found on the previous series. ;)

I thought FarCry 2 is more repetitive hehe. At the time of FarCry's release i actually enjoyed it more vs HL2 and Doom 3, i actually liked the B movie style of FarCry and the many ways you can approach your goal.

I like sandbox type of games, or games that allows some freedom on completing goals. I tried to be creative in FarCry 2 (as what i usually do in sandbox type games) but it still feels meh :(

Meanwhile, AC Revelations is finally out in our country, only 29 USD asian version :D, had to hold of tho, Skyrim still occupies my gaming time.

I knew i wouldnt like the drm before it came out for assassins creed 2 and held on buying it because of it. i only eventually bought them because they were 14 dollars on steam.

i did end up having issues after buying it as well. account issues first of all when setting up the game. second was the server updates and instability of the uplay engine. first night i bought it i played it for almost 6 hours and then their servers went down. kicked me off the game then reverted my save to the beginning of the game. another save issue after i thought i disabled it, i was 2 levels from the end when it reverted me to a early act of the game. this is a pain as i feel i cannot play brotherhood until i beat the other one.

Finally not being able to play on my laptop is extremely annoying. So please do not claim our issues with the drm are made up.

Please forgive my spelling as im posting this from my phone.

Not even close to being true.

I'm not going to get into Details here but you are WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!
Every console on the market has a simple hardware mod that allows for use of pirated software....
Anyone remember MS perma banning people for doing just that...
