The board will be for an AMD x4 955BE. Needs to have 4 DIMM slots, anything that isnt low end junk really.

Can you run to £70 for a GA-890GPA-UD3H rev 2.1 posted ? It took my unlocked x2 555 to 4.2@ 1.52v. Has crossfire potential 8x8 also. Ran very well and I only had it for about 5 months.

I'm looking to sell it now I have a sandy rig up and running.

I cant go higher as ive got a budget i need to stick too. If only my mate had made his mind up when i sold my motherboard and cpu!

OK no worries bud. AMD chips are fine up to 1.55v with good air cooling, My Corsair A70 tamed the beast very well

I had to run it that high as I was also running a 2.9 NB, it helped with stability.

Preferably something on the 8series chipset but can do 7series, new 9series are too expensive.

Nah! ok it's a really good board for 50 euro but nvidia are pretty much dead as a chipset now a days ever since AMD launch the 790fx chipset

Its a good board, for some reason i didn't think it was the one in your specs you where selling, i thought you where going to post up another board. Also i was just speaking in general terms about how ive only seen motherboards for retail prices.

Just worth mentioning; you may need to look into a 790(f)x based board to guarantee the legacy IDE. Might be able to find an M4A79XTD Evo for the price your asking.

Funny you say that as i used to own a M4A79XTD, it wasn't too shabby and id be happy if i could find one. Anything that isn't low end junk would be fine. If it where up to me i wouldn't bother with IDE since its mostly obsolete but my friend insists. I've been checking locally and on ebay, i know roughly what i may be able to get in price.

Me personally, I would look into an IDE->SATA or a bootable PCI IDE card, that way you have a broader choice of boards.

Won an auction for an Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard, only problem is that it is board only no accessories or even an I/O backplate. £33 inc postage tho so i was thinking i might not see another price like that for a while.
