it's not really a rip off, you see the item comes from germany i think it is so thats why it costs more than your average e seller.

Because to save money, most of pixmania's actual warehouses are on the continent.... I ordered something from them a few months ago (cant remember what) but I tracked the package to Koln (Cologne) airport I think it was.

Edit: I just logged in and found my old order, here is the order tracking, you will see it says "UPS Greece" Only took 2 days though i think.

Went & bought one after seeing this :D

Love it, although it does run hotter than my 4870 did.
I was expecting a generic version but it's actually a Sapphire version of the card in a non-retail cardboard box.

Just need to sell on my Sapphire 4870 512mb now :D

It might now be owned by DSG.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixmania

But its still a very european subsidiary.

To be honest I think the cost to send to the US & the price I can get here in the UK would mean you could probably get a new one in the US.

Prices are quite high at the mo, here in the UK & on Ebay 4870's are going for £100+

Its owned by the DSG group, aka Currys, PC World, Dixons, etc.

I wouldnt worry about safety or service, I just usually find their prices too much, especially after shipping is added.
