ULi announced their new chipset, the M1695 northbridge and the M1567 southbridge. It supports all the latest AMD processors and has most of the standard features, it has one interesting feature though. It is able to support AGP 8X, PCI-E 16X (or 2× 8X) and PCI display devices simultaneously.
This is interesting for people who don't want to upgrade their graphics card along with their CPU/systemboard but want to keep the option to upgrade in the future.
The fact that the board supports these interfaces simultaneously also makes it interesting for multi monitor setups or even truly 3D monitor setups.

They're either former ALi or some joint venture from ALi. Either way ALi has something to do with it :)

About ALi sets... not sure I recall seeing them a lot on socket 7 boards and after that rarely, tough they did still exist all this time. And they do have some other recent chipsets. For both A64 and 800Mhz P4. Haven't heard anything good or bad about them though.
