I'm on a laptop with a GeForce GO 6215 video card.
My problem is this, the CRT I'm borrowing is being used as a second monitor for said laptop, because 1280 x 800 is unbearable. The monitor says it can go to 1600 x 1200, which is what it is at right now, but something weird happened after a restart.

After said restart, I was able to choose 1538 x 9something, it was a choice right after 16 x 12.
After I put it at that res, I was able to go to 2048 x 1536 at 60Hz, and it worked.
Well, after another restart, none of those choices were there again.

    Here's my question...
Does anyone know how to get vista (I'm in vista) to disregard what the monitor says about max resolution, so that I can put it back up to 2048 x 1536?

Two notes, I do not want to use a custom res program like powerstrip, and my nVidia control panel is empty, I can only choose which monitors to use in it, nothing else.
