Unlocking the 690 to a Quadro K5000?

    You wouldn't be buying a Titan if you required double floating point precision anyway.

    So it unlocks even more computational power? Not just being able to install quadro drivers and feature set.

    The guy who found this said that you could likely turn your Titan into a Tesla K20, $1,000 into $3,500....

    He just doesn't have a Titan to try and figure it out, he hasn't even figured out how to do it on both cores yet I think he also mentioned.

    Even if you were to unlock it to a Quadro, its compute performance remains the same, all this does is allow you to install Quadro drivers...

    For reference, DP performance for 690 is 1/24 of FP32 rate, DP for Titan is 1/3 of FP32.

    Ha! I KNEW it could be done, despite the naysayers. Ok, it's a hardware mod, but at least it's doable.
