Hi Guys,

My current system(wich you can read about if you look on the left of your screen ;)) can run the latest games on almost the highest settings and with 60 fps. I am a quite demanding gamer and can easily notice when the fps aren't 60 continuesly. I am anal like that... ;). Anyway, lately too many people in know have been building 3 monitor setups and I have to admit I am a bit jealous. To have the same experience I can see some options and maybe you guys can give me advice on wich one is the best.

1. Simply buy to additional monitors and leave the rest of my setup alone. There might be some problems though. I would like to have 3 monitors that have the same height and since 2443bw does't have displayport/hdmi, I would need to buy 2x 2443bw and an adapter as well. It is also highly likely that since I would like to play at 60 fps, my single gpu would be underpowered for 3 x 1080p (1200p).

2. Upgrade my system and sell all the 'spare' parts. If I want my gpu ('s) to be more powerfull, my best bet would be to go Xfire or buy a 6990 or 590. The advantage of choosing a dual gpu card is that I would't have to upgrade the motherboard (mini atx, so no dual pcie-slots). The problem is is that my cpu would probably bottleneck de dual gpu card. On the other hand, replacing the motherboard(for more then one pcie slot), ram, cpu and powersuply, counts as building a new system altogether.

3. Buying a new build. It would cost a lot more, but I would get to 'keep' my old system so one of my friends would be able to use it when they come over. My original plan was to buy a new system next summer, wich is still the wisest choice I would think, but since I am a greedy human being and I want what others already have... ;). A new system would look like this:

- 2500k
- 2 x 6950's 2gb
- p67/z67 motherboard
- 4-8gb ram
- 750-800 watt psu
- 3x 1080p monitor

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this matter.

EDIT: spelling

as for eyefinity, have only tried with two monitors, there are some strong pros with 3monitor setup,,, go for it

It would really help me if you guys would suggest wich of the three options I mentioned would be the best way to go.

NO current config, except maybe 2x 6990, will play all games @ 60 FPS on 3 monitors.

I have two unlocked 6950's for the gaming rig...it play most titles fine, but definitely not maxed out.

Using 2600k in that rig too. As long as you are willing to drop down detail settings(barely makes a difference in image quality no most games), then two unlocked 6950's are fine.

I have issues recommending tri-and quad-card configs, due to how board's slots are arranged. I'd have to suggesty AMD for 6990's, for example, or X58.
