Upgrade to Vista on existing dual Boot XP-XP

    I have a computer with existing dual boot on a single IDE drive, allowing boot to TWO seperate xp installations.

    Is it possible to UPGRADE to VISTA on one of the two partitions (Preferable the 1st (Boot) partition).

    The fear I have is that Vista will overwrite the boot block and no longer be able to boot to the two partitions.

    You can have both XP and Vista installed at the same time. Vista looks for old installs, and adds them to it's boot manager.

    Correct. And you will have a Boot folder and BOOT.BAK file in your XP's C: afterwards.
