    Hey,

I'm planning to sell my current motherboard, cpu and RAM and buy some new pieces. I'm wondering if i should buy a phenom II or a Core 2 Quad atm.

If i buy a phenom II I plan to buy :
    Phenom II 920 : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103472
    4 GB corsair dominator : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214
    ASRock AOD790Gx : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157141

    If I go intel :
    Asus P5Q SE Plus : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131347
    4 GB corsair dominator : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214
    Q9300 : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115043

Any suggestions on Phenom II vs Intel? Keep in mind that i wouldn't like to spend much and this is my main computer ( I'm on a socket 939 athlon 4000+ ATM )

The intel setup you have chosen, would definetly be the best route to go, clock for clock, intel are far better than AMD atm. The asus P5Q's are very good boards too.
Though IMO, a Q6600 G0 might be a better option.

I think the AMD quad may outperform that Q9300.

That 920 will out perform any Q9000 and are on par with Q9050's.

Finally, I ordered a PII. From what you guys said, it should be equivalent and the price isnt much different. I've always been on AMD cpus so i let that get me. Thanks for your opinions
