Currently I have a Sapphire 6870 1GB and am pretty pleased with its performance, but with fall coming im getting the itch to buy something as my last 3 upgrades have been free (Antec P280 case and HyperX 120GB SSD and HyperX ram).

I don't really have a preference as to companies, I've been a life long ATI/AMD guy but with the 600 series from Nvidia and the reviews that have followed im tempted to go Green. My budget is roughly $200 -250 though i could be tempted to save more for a 660Ti. Any thoughts on possible cards to pair with my current specs? All input is welcomed and appreciated :D

GTX 480 is only $180 on EVGA.com Bstock which is a solid upgrade. I would definitely stay away from that GTX 660ti because for the same price you can get a faster 7950 which will allow you to turn up the IQ and make games look better than on the 660ti at the same time maintain a higher min and average frame rate. The 660ti will be a great card when it moves down in price to around $250 because the 7950 is the king of the $300 price bracket.

If priced the same the 7950 is a better choice over the 660Ti. If you like Borderlands 2 then the 660Ti is an interesting deal but both those cards are around 300$. Under 250 you can find either a 7870 or next week the GTX660. These cards would be close in performance probably based on different games one will be faster than the other.

    Here and here...

High AA/AF settings, 660Ti still wins.

Also, this guy is $360 after rebates....

    EDIT: Another comparison

Metro is game in which all AMD 7000 series perform better than NV 600 so it's more or less important to what the OP is actually playing. But people need to stop spreading false information about how the 660Ti will crack under MSAA. Here are some interesting facts, a 3GB overclocked 660 Ti version vs. an overclocked 670 and an overclocked 7950. Highest ingame settings.

As you see, the 660Ti keeps the pace pretty well but it tanks here:

Overall I don't think that using AA is a problem for this card but rather the card is limited in everything by having only 24 ROPs with 192bit bus. It performs as it should for what it costs (I expect prices to be lowered after the Borderlands 2 deal will be over).

If that's the case, this 670 would effectively be a cool $300 after rebates and the free BL2 coupon. :rockout:

    Newegg Preferred account.

No interest for 6 months on purchase over $250.
I have one. I love it. Thousands of dollars in purchases with no interest.

EDIT: HA! Another $20 off for starting Preferred Account... I love Newegg

Never mind. If it's November you should start a thread then. Expect prices to settle
and rumors of the 8000 series by AMD will be all over.

When you intentionally list the latest roster of TWIMTBP titles you can see how it might look like you have already made up you're mind. The 660ti is a good card albeit overpriced and hyped it is. None the less I am not a fanboy myself I run whatever card is cheaper at the time I right now am running an nvidia 560 SE card and it plays BFBC2 perfectly maxed @ 1680x1050 whereas the Radeon HD 7770 competition could not and it was much more expensive and overpriced at the time to boot.

I don't see how that is the case.
Guild Wars 2 is the new hotness in MMO.
WoW is still by far the most played MMO.
BF3 is one of the best looking FPS games out there.
Pretty common choice of games really.
