    I think you need a PCI card.

    your graphics card is probably just doesn't like being flashed to another bios. You should just dump your own bios with ATi tool and change that with RaBiT.

    just open your original BIOS in RaBiT and edit the clock speeds to 400/300x2 (make sure that your card can go that fast first by testing it with ATITool). That will basically get your card up to a 9600Pro speed... You can also edit mem timings if you like however, they might cause your card to freeze up. The 9600 Pro *MIGHT* also have different voltages so that might prevent some performance increase on the 9550. As long as you have a PCI vid card and you take it slowly in modding your card, it should be ok!

    what comands are you using at the moment, because it should change back is you use the command "flashrom -f -p 0 (bios name)" but I think you have to be careful that you don't end up flashing the PCI card. The -f should force it to change, otherwise I'm not too sure - i've never had a bad flash, my Sapphire seems to work with any bios.

    haha, yea, don't flash your PCI card... hehe, accidentally flashed my PCI r7000 with a 9600p BIOS... messed it up for good... packaged it up carefully, returned to store, said "it doesn't work." ^_^;;

    You only have to be concerned I think if your PCI card is also a ATI card. My PCI SiS card doesn't show as a possible flashable card..
