Are any of them powered off the motherboard or do they all require external power?
Can anyone suggest a model that has worked well for them? I'd prefer PCI-Ex1 but can do others. 4 port is preferable.

GA-Z77X-UD3H's VIA controlled USB 3.0 ports (4 of them) keep turning off. I don't want to RMA because my previous Gigabyte RMA took 2 months to complete, I'd rather just buy an add-on card. Shipping back and forth from Gigabyte costs $15 each way, its totally not worth it when everything else on the mobo works fine.

    Any opinions on this?
