    I'm missing out something here?

Aren't backups done directly from pc to pen drive? What's this "hub" for?

guess it backs up anything that may be on your pen drive. Just incase your PC might decided to somehow consume that pen drive and render any information on it unreadable.

    It's a gimmick.

Install the included copy of award-winning backup software NovaBackup 10, press the button and never be without your important data ever again.

Seems it comes with some software, and a one toch backup button.

    it is useless...
people generally back up their data onto a hard drive... not a pen drive...

There are a lot of people that backup their data to flash drive and media.

Useless for most people that know what they are doing, I just use a robocopy script in a bat file, but for most of the people who know little about things like this it can be a handle thing to them.

Correct, this product is one of those "Pick what files you want to back up every time the button is pressed" type of deals. Most consumers do not back up their entire systems, heck they rarely even do data backups.:shadedshu
