my friend told me that this is possible. will it work with a 7600 gs? if you can how do you do it

Most likely never going to happen. The future of physics is in CPU's now not GPU's!! Where have you been for the past month?! Seriously though, both ATi and Nvidia were pumping this stuff last year.. but have now pretty much moved on.
That's a negative. Physics will be done with the GPU in the end. Technically speaking CPUs are awful physics processors.
technically speaking the cpus now days are dual or quad so there is always a processor for physics although i thing the fpu have to do with floating math's..
p.s. the hd2900xt haves physics processor bult in.......don't know for the 2600 though
