Want to upgrade from old build

Hello TPU,

I have old system of mine and I want to upgrade (or should say build the same using some new parts).
What I have already
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 With CPU Fan
Asus P series Motherboard
2*2 Gb RAM 1600MHz
POV Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT -1Gb
HDD 500 GB (Sufficient)

My Budget is around INR- 10,000/- (USD $ 150). Budget is very tight can not increase any further.

What I need
A case
A PSU
A DVD RW (only DVD no Blue Ray) (Optional- I can use bootable pendrive for OS load)

and If I could get I will add 1 more stick of RAM if only it will be helpful with that Intel Core 2 Duo.

Use:
It will be used as Counter Strike Server, PHP (-Xampp) Server, Some old titles (such as NFS MW 2005, COD-MW1), MS SQL Server 2008, Movies.

* Please help me any one from Indian Market place...I have only 10K to 12K INR in hand....

if i would be on tight budget i would go the used items road.
but i would place the mainboard on the cardboard\box of mb and get me a quad core and better graphicscard.
what win version are ya running? and get 2x2 or 2x4gb of ram instead of one stick for not loosing dual channel.

Find out which CPU is supported by your motherboard, then look for a used quadcore.

Depending on which OS you are using(32 bit/64 bit) then I would consider more ram, but only if you are using 64 bit OS.

I think you could upgrade to a quad core and 8gb of ram for under 100$, you just need to find the right deals on ebay. Please give us the exact spec of the motherboard, so that more detailed advice can be given...

I don't really know about prices on used hardware in India, but where I'm from you can score a Q8400 for under $30.
If you have 2 extra slots for RAM on your motherboard, you can probably double your RAM for another $20-25. If I was in India, I'd hook you up with a set of OCZ Platinum for even less.

Computer case is the least of your worries. I am still using almost 10 year old Chieftec Dragon and it gets the job done.
Also forget about DVD-RW. I got one for my old rig rebuild and in 3 years I've used it about 3 times (to make a shitty music CD for my uncle).

What you should do is go get the most generic and the cheapest ATX mid-tower case and invest the rest of your money into a decent CPU cooling and a good 500W PSU (preferably new).
Brand new 500-550W Chieftec or FSP is well within your remaining budget.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
This is what I would do, if I were you.
Switch to AMD. Phenom II processors are very cheap, so are the APUs.
I'd go used A10 Kaveri APU with mediocre motherboard, because this way you can buy some time on videocard upgrade. This may cost you a little over $100, but you still get enough cash to buy a power supply.
Save up another $60-$70 and you should be able to afford a used R7 250 and that extra 2x2GB RAM.

That Core 2 Duo handles almost every thing I have stated in first post.

I already have GC, Mobo, CPU, RAM. I am asking for a Case and a decenet PSU for stated configuration....Please suggest...
