Has some problems to work out but it has potential.
I just hope Gaijin gets on the ball.
The updates seem to be few and far between. Makes me think they are not working on it hard enough.

Also some hacker stole pictures off my facebook and posted them on their forums.

I went ape shit and they banned my account but they did not ban his..
They let his account stay because he is an avid fanboy of the game..

I sent them several pictures of proof, over days of continued harassment in game..
I think they finally did something to the guy though.
They told me they did.

Looks pretty nice. I like that there are single player campaigns available as well but I think I may wait until there are some less bugs and it is more ready. Most of the games I am spending my time with at the moment are free to play games that are all in beta and the bugs are starting to get to me. Albeit they are all fun to play...most of the time.

I'll be giving this a go before too long though.

Installing now, I got an X65-F for Christmas and have been itching to test it in something other than freespace 2!

I was going to pick up FSX or grab some IL2 packs but i think this been a newer game will have more to offer Should be nice if it has dual throttle support

I recommend Aerofly FS, it's currently on sale on STEAM.

TY I'll have a look into that one.

Just finished all the training missions on realistic difficulty. Damn that carrier landing is a pain. I crash about 10 times! Got it in the end by ignoring the target markers and not using flaps. Just a nice steady decent cut engines about 100M from the boat, The plane just sat down perfectly.

The solution to that is the random mission generator

Don't bother with the "to battle" feature, You'll end up in pvp flying a biplane against jets!

Instead go to "game modes" and pick missions. Then go to the mission editor. Or you can go do single missions. Just make sure you go into a co-op game rather than a FFA.

Anther solution to a bit better EXP in the beginner planes is to try the "to battle" feature and hope you get a domination match. The biplane/beginner plane is actually pretty good at landing. I've been diving at full speed into a very tight turn with 0 engines to stall and drop to about 70Mph. At that speed you can land pretty fast and the beginner plane pretty much bounces. Another amusing trait of the British Starter plane is it can be held at take off speed on the ground. Meaning you can shoot other landed planes I found this to be very amusing.

As for the repair bill on landing, that only happens if you land on a runway. If you snap your prop off on landing then overshoot the strip you'll just sit there, no repairs! lol.

And try the EU servers. I have chat off on mine, But i haven't noticed much Russian at all in chat. Perhaps I've been lucky in that respect.

ATM i'm level 1 player lever, and rank 2 RAF. Meaning i have the hurricane, It's a lot better than the beginner fighters, I still want something with a cannon and rockets tho. There is a big difference in cannons V/s guns

I have NEVER seen such a Huge turn around on one page before. You Started the thread praising the Game, then a few lines down, it's "STAY AWAY!!!" This is why you want to play a game for a while before recommending it. Unless it was the support that soured you, which I can definitely understand. It's too bad this happened to you, Sorry to hear it. $500 is ALOT for a game.

I really agree. Except I want people to know what they are getting into.. The game is so badly moderated, you can't even say it's badly moderated.. Because if it was "badly" moderated it would mean it had SOME kind of moderation. The game has none..

It's hollow though and only does one thing, even after the update.. Rinse and repeat..

UPDATE:
They recently doubled the cost of airplane repairs and increased the repair times by like tenfold.
The game is now almost completely unsustainable in the economy due to it.

Even if you are a "premium" member with bonuses, you cannot make enough money to get by.
I'm a pretty decent player and I have a hard time anyway.

Don't even think of bringing your best planes out or suffer massive money loss.
My best planes just sit in the hangar.

If you like waiting literally 15 days for your plane to be repaired for free, enjoy..

Also it's still just a bunch of random maps, that throw you into constant dogfights, over and over..
No map selection.

They say they are releasing this "World War" mode, but I still don't see it...

Introduced a crap ton of new bugs now, with kill reward detection and landing critical planes.

I can't even connect the the EU server, so I am stuck playing with Russians, who I can't even understand.
They say they have an NA server ready but they won't release it until they have more people...lol..

I've not been having any trouble making money. However i play reserves a hell of a lot in arcade battles. Then do the odd full real battle when i want a challenge.

Just doing arcade mode, in any tier plane is going to cost you if you can't make enough kills. It does have a broken economy, but that doesn't mean it's not playable. You have to remember this is still beta and they are making tweaks as it develops.

Another option is to keep a tight watch of repair costs. Not all planes have high rep costs, some decent planes have pretty low ones like the Typhoon 1.a with a decent armament and 900 lions repair.

As for the flight models and mechanics, there is a lot of work to be done. Bombers are probably having the hardest time atm as cannons are doing silly damage. Bombers need either more HP or more hit zones to counter this. So instead of loosing a full wing you loose 30% or something similar.


I'm still finding it hard to believe you spend $500. I've spent £50 on it. and for that i have 4 ace teams on reserves (USSR, Japan, Germany, Brits), and the brits up to level 8 flying wellingtons, typhoons, and hurricanes all ace. And I have several Eagle planes. You must have totally maxed your teams to spend that amount, when level 400-500 is sufficient. You just split your points evenly, and get level through spread rather than maxing the important skills.

On a final note last reserves match i got 9 kills in i-15 ussr reserves and the chakira. That netted me about 20,000 lions. A few games like that and you soon have your repair money for the bigger games.
