Alright guys I got my Water cooling system up and running. It works wonderfully and with no leaks. It dropped my temps by an average 15c to 20c While overclocking and stress testing.

Heres my Question though..... my Bard Size that came with this water cooler is G1/4" to 1/2" barbs x6. Since my Cooler Came in a Kit it came with 7/16" ID x 3/8" OD Tubing.

But I would like to switch over to some 1/2" Tubing because of the fact that 7/16" is hard to find locally.

Would this cause any problems???? If so what would be some other suggestions of sizes that I could use? With out hindering Flow or worries of the tubing slipping off?

Sorry if this is a noob question but I have always had hard time visualizing sizes. :toast:

I after looking around the net it should be fine using 1/2" Tubing but.... I didn't know if there is some cardinal rule of water cooling that I don't know about that say's it is wiser to use a smaller Diameter tubing on a larger barb????

G1/4" is the thread size on the barb, 1/2" is the barb size in question.

7/16" is bigger than 3/8"... You may want to remeasure that one. ;)

I only use 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD tubing and IMHO, the advantage 1/2" would bring over 3/8" is so small, it isn't really worth the extra expense. Also for the looks, in a mid case, your 1/2" tubing would look enormous and end up looking cluttered.

    My 2 cents

    Those clips will work fine.

Yeah sorry for the double post..... I said 3/8" God I am having a typing problem today.... Sorry I meant 5/8" .... See what I mean though.... I have a hard time picturing Sizes.

As far as the Mid case though.... while I do have a mid tower case I also have the CM Sniper case. Which should have been really called a full tower.... this thing is huge. But you might be right..... I wonder if anyone here had a Sniper case with 1/2 Tubing in it???
