watercooling question

Is it possible to use mineral oil in a watercooling unit instead of water ?

The only thing I could find is PC's submerged in oil which is not happening. :laugh:

I don't think so. Mineral oil I believe is to thick would be hard on the pump.

Not as efficient at transferring heat and to thick for the vast majority of pumps.

I remember reading those all in one coolers use oil cause someone said so when one leaked on them so IDK really.

distilled water and a silver kill coil and 10% of the pink auto antifreeze mixed works the best IMO... It dropped my temps by 5c

PC ICE is oil based. http://www.xoxide.com/primoice-nonconductive-fluid-clear.html

Used it for a while with a pond style pump. Pump was a bit noisy but the thicker PC ICe helped to suspend the bearing and quiet things down. Other than that, not much difference between this and H2O aside from a slightly thicker consistency.
