Keeping in tune with the sarcastic humor of my previous post. Crash to desktop does come to mind Frick
I doubt our great grandchildren would even come close to seeing the early stages of such an undertaking. Let alone live in a user defined functional world like poorly coded Skyrim.
I would like to think that if this was even proven it would lead to smaller undertakings like replacement medical applications. Maybe curing cancer on a sub cellular level. Creating something from nothing with actual substance. Ie: A Star Trek themed hollodeck or food replicator.

Enough people believe in destiny and fate and God. Living in a simulation is no different. You exist, whether with reason or not but you cannot change the mode or laws of your reality or simulation. Those that believe in God have already forsaken choice - the universe has a pre-determined destiny. Agreed. But knowing eventually exactly how regardless of why should lead to knowing how to. Never mind the amount of people that will undoubtedly kill themselves when they find out the answers. Seeing the sub pixel 2d level of our universe will not allow us to ever see who or what put it there. It's more about what we can achieve with such information. The believers will still undoubtedly keep their "omniscient super being" for such reasons.

I do enjoy people stating definitely something will be known because what often occours is "slightly unexpected" which leads to more questions.

that second link is really good.

the first thing that i was thinking of is normal matter vibrations will cause jitter in the reflections. but that gets explained well.

also like the part where they say "if we find vibrations we cannot get rid of,.." they have found space time jitter.
