OOS in my area, but Craigslist is full of people scalping them  I got a similar drive last year and it had a WD Green EADS drive in it, 99% sure these have WD Green EARS drives in them.

A helpful rep did let me know that this is part of their 2 Day Sale and not a Black Friday DoorBuster. So there is hope of getting one beyond today.

Keep in mind that this was not just a Black Friday deal. It is running through the end of today as well.

You can check stock on their website.

I just got one and they had about 10 left at the Target nearest me. Fortunately there are about 10 Targets within 10 miles of Philadelphia!

I bought this same drive about four months ago for $110 and I haven't had any problems with it.

From reading other forums that have jumped on this deal, the drives that are installed in these have all been the WD 2TB Blacks!!! :rockout:

If that is the case, these are really a crazy good deal:respect::respect::respect:

@StreetFighter: Open your new drive up and let us know ASAP if it is in fact the WD black drive:toast:

Are you serious? Caviar BLACKS?! That is a ridiculous deal. I'll have to check the Targets again over here.

I was over at EVGA forums, and OC.com forums, and everyone that purchased one used them in their main systems, and all were the Caviar Blacks! Man, I am short on funds, otherwise I would jump on one of these dudes.

One of those would look so good plugged into my DVR.

That's the same rational that leads to dealing weed. :)

The only downside is that these Caviar Blacks will only have a 1yr warranty, and if I remember right, WD will ask for the drive with enclosure if you have to RMA it.

Got one :)! Just have to pick it up from my brother. Hopefully its a Caviar Black, or I'll consider returning it.

Um, I've got one sitting on my desk right now. If I knew they were Blacks I would have got some more and scalped. They had 4 in stock.

Call ahead, the inventory tool on Target.com is horribly inaccurate- at least in our area.

Man this thing is nice. Silent and cool operation, no vibration, no blinding lights, fast transfer over USB 2.0, all with a sleek design.

I'm transferring over my stuff from the old backup drives and shall sell them to compensate for the cost of the new one.

Odd, I didn't think they put blacks in externals.

Yeah and there's really no need for there to be one in this drive, since it's hella bottlenecked by USB 2.0. I could see a Black if it had an eSATA connection, but it doesn't. Maybe they just had a surplus of them, or wanted to use them since they're cool and quiet. Who knows

I heard people here locally actually fought for them, I'm glad I decided to forgo the chaos. Great deal on those TVs though.

Got mine, popped it open and.... it was a 2.0TB Green EARS drive, just like I guessed earlier. Guess we can't all be lucky.
