Patterns in the Ivy II - Opeth

Beautiful song. I just read the lyrics and they are pretty good. I still think that lyrics always sound better in English for a song of this kind. In french it sounds really cheesy IMO.

    Samael's new album: http://www.samael.info/Above/index.html

    damn . . . damn . . . DAMN!

They've gone hard-core back to their roots (even though I loved their recent work as equally), and have done so better than any other artist's "back to the roots" album that I've ever heard before . . . again, I was in for a surprise. Samael have never ceased to amaze me with any of their releases . . .

Above totally kicks ass! :rockout: I can hear their melody of Passage intermingled with the heaviness of Rebellion, and the dark undertones of Ceremony of Opposites wrapped up with the ferocity of {i]Worship Him[/i].

If you love black/death metal, and have never listened to Samael - check them out!

<sigh> the only downfall, though - they've only ever made one tour to the US (that I know of) . . . and I had missed a chance to see their live performance (which is supposedly superb). Been an avid fan since 1995-1996 when I first got hold of Rebellion, and have been dying for a chance to see them live ever since.

They're definitely deserving of more credit in the metal world than they've ever been given . . . it's time to quit overlooking them, IMO. Pass the word, pass the music! :rockout:

    told ya :p

I can't count how many times I've heard a group saying they were doing a "back to the roots" album . . . and it always turns out like shit, like a re-hash of somewhat recent material, with no real "depth" to the album. Samael should be given an award for Above. I about creamed myself when I heard the first track, Under One Flag.

right now listening to: Samael - Baphomet's Throne (old school) :respect:
