Hi!Imgoing to buyna quad for mySystem ( rampage formula x48) and i have this options

    A q9400 at 280 dollars or a C1 q9550 at 350 dollars.

In my country the e0 revision of q9550 havemt appeared yet

Both cpu would be clpcked at about 3,8 ghz.

I have seen some reviews comparing q9400 and q9450and i high res gaming they performed about the same, so i think that the extra cache is useful. What dp you think?

Is worth topay the extra money for a C1 q9550??

If you are going to overclock much, the Q9550 is a better choice due to the higher multiplier.

The Q9400 seems alright to me but I would probably rather go Q9550 on the Intel C2Q side.

if u dont want to look for the ultimate barrier but only went for 3.8 ghz, then go for the q9400

I dont want to go higher than 3,8 ghz for 24/7.
And my mobo wont have any problem to push 475 fsb so the multiplier dont matters.

So the cache would be the unique differencw, what do you think?

yeah, but i doubt that many apps use an insane big 12mb cache, so, yes go for the rampage and get something else with the money

Agreed with Paulieg. No ocing = Q9400, Ocing = Q9550 but u said there;s no E0 stepping in ur cont. so u won't get as far.
