As the title says... Lets make it more interesting though...
If you feel brave enough, care to put a number next to it (1-10 scale), 10 being your best gaming experience, 1 being a waste of money?

I have been away from the PC gaming world for a while and thought that this would be a good way to figure out whats hot currently...
rather than go with typical Gameinformer hype.

I just bought Mass Effect 1 & 2 as I didn't have them. Now I just have to find time to play them.

What genre of games do you like?

I'm in the same boat. I saw them on sale and heard that all DRM, discounting Steam itself, had been removed. i'm currently playing through the original game and so far I am extremely impressed.

Edit: You have to laugh at some of Shepard's one-liners: Star Trek meets 80's toughguy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OImKPh6N_Lw) meets film-noire.

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. I am actually just playing multiplayer with Kidswithguns. I would rate the overall experience 9 out of 10 :rockout:

On PC im playing some Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and i picked up Assassins Creed II from the Steam sale, so i will be playing that as well. I'm also trying to get back into playing TF2.

On Consoles i have been playing a LOT of Red Dead Redemption on my PS3, it's a very good game, just has a lot of bugs and glitches from what i saw/played. But's it's a great looking game and the gameplay is fantastic. Also may try and pick up Super Mario Galaxy 2 sometime soon.

Deus Ex. I loved the second one, but had never really played much of the first one. I like it so far, even as old as it is, it's far more epic than the second one. 10 hours in and I don't think I am even half way through. 8/10

Just finished Prince of Persia Forgotten sands. I give it a 9.5 out of the series and an 8.5 overall.

Right now playing Singularity, so far I give it an 8 (just got the time manipulation device so am not far into it).

Blur was too repetitive for my tastes but good nonetheless. 7.5/10

    EDIT:

Also have Transformers: WfC just waiting for me. Haven't touched it yet.

Delta Force BHD (Black Hawk Down)! I give it a 9.5.

But ... this is far from what's "hot now." Old game, but I still consider it a better game than any current FPS.

It's much more open than your typical FPS. The DF series was largely characterized by lots of long-range multiplayer sniping and massive maps. There is also a fair share of urban, indoor, and underground battle to be had as well, however. Graphically, it's unimpressive (although not as bad as one might expect for its age). SP is nothing special due to weak AI and there's not a large community playing MP any more.

But hey, it's a game with a fair variety of weapons, dedicated servers and lean unlike certain current titles *cough*, and the game comes with a map making tool so there are lots of custom maps and always something new.

I'd guess that 80% of people who like today's games would play it and say "this is junk," but I'm just plain one of the other 20%.

Just played some left 4 dead 2. Being a damn good l4d1 player, I figured I would walk in and whoop ass.... Boy was I wrong. Luckily I got in with some people that didn't mind helping new players so long as they listened to the advice, which I did. I absolutely mauled with the L4D1 characters, but I needed work with the new classes. Overall it's a good game 7/10
