Generic mouse. Why? I believe that the skill of the user drives the mouse, not the build quality of the mouse driving the user. I can still get 30-0 in BF2 flying the jet before someone finally manages to take me down.

Flying a jet and actualy playing a real FPS that requires skill is two completely different things.

I used to dominate unreal tournament and soldier of fortune back in the day when they were still really popoular and I was like 10 years old lol. But really I won almost every single SoF game I ever played and just about always came in the top 3 in unreal tournament. I used to rule Rocket Arena in quake 1 as well.

quake3 is a huge POS. fuck quakeworld coding. I want my lightning gun to work like the thunderbolt in Quake 1, it goes where you point it instantly and doesn't sluggishly try to drag itself to where you point your crosshair.

I don't have either CoD4 or UT3 so I can't say much about either of them. However I still hold strong in my belief that if you put a good gamer behind a generic $15 mouse he/she can do just as well as with the high dollar mouse.

You can still game with a cheap mouse, but to really shine I believe you need a good gaming mouse behind you to really do good. I always get the most kills and saves in L4D and I'm always in the top 10 on CoD4 back when I used to play it uncontrollably

I use an OCZ Equalizer (A4Tech X750) because my G5 died, and I only had about $30 to spend on a mouse. Every bit as good as my G5. The only thing I miss in the slightest is the adjustable weighting.

It tracks beautifully, glides nicely, withstands a shit-ton of abuse, and is comfortable. What more could you ask for?

Microsoft basic optical mouse. Why? I like it and I stole a fair share of them from my previous boss.
Actually the one I use on my desktop is several years old, great quality.

I really like it. I haven't had any problems with it gaming either. Most wireless mice I've owned are pretty crappy for gaming soo with this one I think I lucked out.

    I predominately play FPS

    Call of dutys
    quake III
    crysis
    farcry2
    all that jazz

the only problem wih my cheap microsoft mouse is trying to snipe. the DPI is too low so it's very hard to get headshots sometimes when I'm in a tight spot and can't squirm over a little bit to get a better shot

Keep in mind that the DA is only good for palmers. The DA will be sitting on my desk as pure eye candy, I'm going down to J&R later today to pick up a Diamondback 3G. I'm a claw gripper and I can't stand the DA.

GM-M8000 ... just very good in every thing for 45$ (in our market) + if there is a game that doesn't support side buttons i can assign any button(s) in the keyboard to any of the 5 independently programmable gaming buttons through Ghost-Engine .....

I have the Habu from Microsoft. I have it for about a year now, it replaced a basic optical mouse i used before.

Basically i bought it because of its blue light/black colour looks. It fits well with the rest of my computer looks.

agreed - simply one of the best gaming mouse I've ever used . . . it's perfectly balanced for weight, with just enough buttons to be useful, and not so many buttons as to be encumbering or pose potential problems in-game.

Although it's not a laser-optical mouse, the infrared sensor it uses is extremelly sensitive and responds as well (if not better, IMHO) than some laser mice do.

And it carries a kick-ass price, too. :toast:
