    i was gonna get the Corsair Tx 650w or 750w for my planned I7, but realized they were not modular,

    so im looking at alternatives at 650w and over for a good price,

    i have these makes on mind;

    Xclio
    Hiper
    Be quiet dark power: but these are expensive.
    Enermax

    Also whats the best O/C for an I7 920 on air so far regardless of mobo and case?

    PC Power & Cooling are the same as OCZ, just branded different ( I believe OCZ owns PC P&C).

    But Corsair, PC P&C, Seasonic, Silverstone are the 4 i would recommend

    Yes OCZ does own PC Power & Cooling, just under a different name

    I +1 on PC Power & Cooling

    To tell you the truth buddy, working at a Computer Retail Store, and testing different PSU's, there is not a huge difference just different voltages on the railings, some might have one rail or multiple...

    Picking what type of hardware is your personal preference, what manufacture you had best luck and especially customer support, but aswell asking other people their experience...

    Depends....

    Even though I have heard nothing but good, for the same price may as well get a Seasonic/PC P&C/Silverstone.

    Corsair makes modular PSUs, they're under the HX category.

    as everyone already said, PC P&C, Silverstone, Seasonic and Corsair are the top 4. There are other great ones too like Enermax, Thermaltake (Toughpower series) and Ultra (but only the X3 line). Other brands are less consistent so you got to research the model in question.

    Here is a extremely good breakdown of PSU's. Perkam from XtremeSystems worked very hard on this and countless others. This is the old list as the last I looked they were working on a new more up to date one.
