    Ive been out of the new hardware loop for a while now......so whats 'hot' at the moment (ie CPU, GPU etc & is Intel still pwning AMD?)

    Intel still has faster CPUs, both camps are releasing new ones soon as well. And ATI beat down nVidia this time around :D Just as a general answer :p

    Intel P45 chipset (Mid/high, decent prices) ALL 1600FSB
    NVidia 790i Ultra Tri Sli, (high, pricey)

    Ati HD4870x2 - fastest thing out there just about
    Nvidia GTX 280 and 260, fast
    Ati HD4870, fast
    Ati HD4850, pretty fast, good bang for buck
    Ati HD4650...budget

    QX9770 top end, extreme, 1600FSB 3.2gig Quad
    Q9650 new E0 stepping, 9x multi quad, 1333FSB
    E8600 E0 stepping, 10x multi dual core, 1333fsb stocks at 3.33gig
    AMD Tri cores been out a while now
    E7300...budget to mid, 800FSB

    Thats about whats been happening in the last few weeks, again as ever, more to come.

    ATI are winning price-performance, however Nvidia has physx up its sleeve which is something of a boost, as (at the moment) its hard to run dedicated physx cards in vista.

    E7200 is the best cpu ever made.. Well atleast for cheap-o overclocker/gamers :laugh:

    Oh and AMD is bringing back the FX series along with AM3 in December/January :rockout:

    EA have been screwing gamers hardly any pc versions of games this year!
    Think WD and the Samsung F1 are still on top in the hard drives.
