What's the deal with Steam today?

I've been getting some "server too busy" messages when trying to start some games. I come back a few minutes later and at least one is working so far. The other refuses to start because it not connecting to steam.

What the heck are they releasing something to day for this game? It's now trying to download something and the download speed is slow.

new campaign...uh...i cannot remember the name. I refuse to buy that game, so wouldn't know, except that there was a popup about it.

Man I picked a bad time to play this game. Didn't know an addon was released today. As of right now I can't play L4D2 at all. Ohh, this "The Passing" campaign is free! No wonder its downloading. Wow, it's incredibly slow too. I'll try another time.
