Which technology gets you excited? What have you been waiting for, and what could you live without?

Shadowplay for me, I can record games without taking a crazy massive hit on cpu now.

The hottest new GPU technology is the 290X HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE

I'm sorry, I had to. No harm meant

    None of the above.

I voted none of the above. I can't get excited about any of those things are they depend on which brand, mostly, you own.

I could live without proprietary physics effects and API's that may potentially favour certain brands and also any feature that is brand centric. When we use a dedicated card to play games from 3rd party developers and publishers we need to see an agreed standard adopted from all concerned.
Like other hardware groups, we could have a GPU developers agreement that had truly open standards that both parties could use.
From there all gpu manufacturers could focus on in house hardware technology such as power saving features, better board designs, better cooling solutions.
It's like if Ford made certain highways and only your Ford car could drive it properly. Highways can be driven by all and it's up to the manufacturer to develop solutions (4x4's for bad roads, etc).

I'd love to see a GPU consortium agree open standards and have development and coding of games work along side it. Let the GPU manufacturers focus on their solutions to the open platform so we could all have equal access to all roads.

Too cryptic? Also, is what AMD are doing with the Heterogenous stuff open like I am discussing?

EDIT: if i sound thick - i've not had my Ready Brek, yet.

Mantle, if they pull it off will be awesome. Especially for users like myself who have weaker CPUs :)

Lower priced high end GPUs IMO, so that's none of the above, i guess.

G-Sync followed closely by ShadowPlay, no question.

    None, until we know more.

EDIT: Why are these polls always wrong btw? They're always about stuff we don't know about yet (like Mantle and G-Sync). In six months it would be a good poll, but now it's just dumb imo.

Just about all AMD users are excited for mantle.

I'm wondering how much more fps it can provide, so that getting a 120/144Hz monitor is worthwhile.

G-Sync is no more a solution than Mantle.

Who's to say that Mantle developed games will be 'allowed' to work with G-Sync.

At the very least, AMD have suggested that Mantle API is open, not proprietary, though it will doubtless run better on GCN architectures.

Well 2 for me TrueAudio and Mantle, as positional audio and possible better fps in games are both important to me.

Sure Mantle. But I hope it's not only hot air like I thought it was also for the next gen consoles. :shadedshu

G Sync is what I went with. No clue what Mantle will bring and the other stuff... MEH.

Rumors... no clue how well it will do or the level of acceptance it will provide. Too many questions still to hang our hats on it IMO.

I'll bet it can only do this on specific hardware running specific games on specific maps or a similar limitation.

I dont see the point in G-sync when you can buy higher sync monitors..

mantle would be great if the majority of future games were mantle, or you keep an AMD rig and play Battlefield forever.. I cant wait to see my 8350/7950 be as good as some uber intel rigs tho.

I'd go for DX11.2, even though the new tiled resourcing feature is nowhere to be seen in games yet, the perspective is appealing, vivider, larger and more complex environments.

DirectX 11.2 did some good for us, but I'll wait for Mantle before I vote. Mantle might a game changer or a big marketing bull. Gsync, you kidding Nvidia? Give back 3dfx to us if you want to be game changer!

After careful consideration I had to go with none. Another minor DX update? Nobody cares. New consoles? That's like a sad joke. Proprietary stuff that requires new hardware? No way am I blowing my money on that. Shadowplay is mildly interesting in that I'll never have to install fraps again or worry about losing 50% of my framerate, but it's still such a minor thing that I'll never use anyways. Give us more price cuts. Now that would be useful and worth getting excited about.

    Kaynar and EarthDog say thanks.
