When to change Watercooler Tubing and water?

Maybe this could be a silly question,
But normally when must be changed tubing and water?

Depends on your system a lot, water being used, and what types of light exposure the tubing is getting. I run Distilled water with a few caps of white vinegar and never have any algae build ups, plus i like my water running clear so I can easily spot contamination.

Best way to tell if you can't see because of dye is to just smell the water. If it stinks like a swamp probably time to change water and flush system. IF your system is exposed to direct sunlight, such as sitting next to a window with a window case, often can cause tubing to degrade, plus sunlight helps stuff grow. Also If you see a lot of very thick almost creamy foam in the tubes or reservoir.

Otherwise it probably wouldn't hurt to just flush the system every 6 months or so. Also gives you an opportunity to inspect everything and make sure nothing is failing or wearing out.

Perhaps if you have a windowed case and/or UV lighting inside the case. In my case, it was a common issue with Primochill tubing, so I just switched manufacturer.

I have literally only used the tubing from Lowes/Homedepot. It's very cheap (that sounds negative...Cost effective), uv resistant, and lasts a long time, indoors. The price I pay for 10 feet is what most people pay per foot of the "good stuff" which IMO is total marketing BS.

Definitely, I also prefer buying coloured tubing over coloured coolant.

Perhaps if you have a windowed case and/or UV lighting inside the case. In my case, it was a common issue with Primochill tubing, so I just switched manufacturer.

I am using PrimoChill PrimoFlex™ Advanced LRT™.
And i use colouredtubing no coloured coolant.

Tubing normally in this day and age with quality manufacturers does not deteriorate as fast as like when I first started doing this so tubing changes normally do not need to be done for years unless you get extreme discoloring, kinks, or some type of build up inside which again is not common on good brands of coolant, distilled water (With the right kill coils or whatever), and tubing.

As for liquid, it depends on what you use and how well you maintain it. I use Coolant which will last years under the right circumstances and never needs to be changed unless I get some type of build up which should not happen. With distilled water its a matter of opinion because as long as you treat it the water can stay useable for many years though some people still prefer to change it once a year. I personally think you can keep it going longer than that so I would not worry and just go with what your eyes see.

A while ago I used the clear tubing from Home Depot, and it installed pretty easily. This last time I redid it, I changed to some Primochill (pretty sure that brand), and it seemed more solid.

However both seemed to yellow a bit, so I'll be going for a different manufacturer next time, or just get some cored tubing, as @RCoon said I agree with. I knew it to be true room past experience, but I really wanted to do a build with blood red coolant. Having done it and gotten it out of system, I'll be going back to colored tubing. From here on out.

This is not to mention that coolant can be a huge pain to clean up! Red coolant + tile grout joints = PermaStain

I had a really bad experience with a Primochill "UV Dye Bomb". I'll never put colorant in my system again.

The tubing I've got is all Tygon... doesn't yellow but has gotten a little "hazy" over the years. Pure distilled water nothing else.

I have a Haf 932 and the interior is grey also. Black would have been much nicer

The black and grey thing could be because mine is the advanced version, and if I am not wrong my 922 is grey.
I went for colouredtubing because i didn't want to add any coloured coolant to my watercooler, maybe I am paranoid but I don't trust coloured coolants.

This is wise because it's much more hassle-free.

As far as the Haf differences go, I've no idea. I bought mine used a long time ago here on TPU from a member; it's been a good case, but I've no idea which version or whatever it is.

But your black interior looks really nice

Just so you know, 99% of what I know about water cooling is from what @MT Alex has taught me.

That is a good plan because that's the exact jump I made as well: 932 --> 900D, and it was the best decision ever! I still the 932 and like it, it houses my wife's pc.

I would only own a 900D if I was water cooling a X99 rig (CPU/VRMS/Chipset) and like 3-4 GPUs. Where you need some 360 and 480 radiator space.

It's not the 900D difficult to clean due to dust?
Unfortunately where I live dust is a big problem
