Good day TPU! I have a Fractal Design Define Mini and I'm gonna be buying 4 (2 for the front intake, 1 for the bottom intake, and 1 for the rear exhaust) Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-29s (It's the lowest speed GT I could find ) and a fan controller for it in about a week or so. I will be replacing the molex connectors for the AP-29s to 3-pin connectors.

These were the cheapest "knob-less" fan controllers I could find locally:

NZXT Sentry Mix (50W per channel, costs PhP1,650/around USD40)

    NZXT Sentry 2 (10W per channel, costs Php,1,450/around USD35)

I'm clueless about the watts per channel thing... Could someone please enlighten me... :toast:

I need a fan controller that can control at least 5 fans coz I have a push/pull config for a CM Hyper 212+ and I'd also like to connect the "pull" fan, which is also an AP-29, to the fan controller.

Which one should I buy or could you suggest a better alternative? :toast:

Go with the Mix. Although why get Gentle Typhoons? They're still not exactly quiet, even with lower speeds.

I used to have Deep Cool XFans on a previous build and they only lasted around 6 months... The AP-29s I'm currently using on a 212+ are almost a year old. They are much quieter at lower speeds and I actually don't mind the noise, I know i won't hear it when I'll be sitting on a couch 7 ft away. Anyway what fans would you recommend from this list? I prefer fans w/o LEDs by the way... :toast:

No LEDs? well, my Deep Cool Windblades are still doing fine (bought them from cooltechpc too), as well as my Silverstone FN121-BL fans.

I'd recommend this fan from them, if you want to save some.

I don't think I'll be able to close the front panel with a controller with knobs.

I'll look for reviews for those fans...

Thanks for all the suggestions! :toast:

They're a good choice too. It might look weird in your case though, having blue UV blades. lol

I won't mind the looks as long as it performs well. My case has no window anyway. I think I'm gonna try these air penetrators. :)

    I don't want to thread-jack but I have a similar question...

I am really considering the Swiftech 320 "all in one" liquid cooling system for my build in the Switch 810 I just got. I am looking forward to the Maximus V Formula with its integrated water block. I would be running a line from rad/pump to apogee HD block, then one from the block back to the rad and another line going pump-block-MB-rad.
I am thus wanting to cool as best as is possible, and I would like to use the same same Scythe Slipstream 120mm 110cfm fans for push (rad/push fans mounted inside).
Are they the best choice for a push fan without going up to UltraKaze or Delta fans? Also, could I use 140mm fans mounted on top under the slots for pull fans (NZXT adjustable 140mm fans up to 99cfm)? Or should I use 120mm for both?

Im using the Sentry Mix - Totally love it. Its just a straight foward no frills fan controller with a bit of bling since you can change the colour of the LEDs.

its perfect for what i needed it for anyway
    adulaamin says thanks.
