I'd like to go for a Nvidia card and i'm in the UK. Would be pretty nice if they had a store over here though!

Yeah, I feel you. They're has been a talk about a Newegg.co.uk a while ago. Could've came in handy when I was hanging around in the UK. Pity.

Anyway, here's a review comparing 4 OCed GTX 580 editions. The difference in performance is meagre. And the maximum OC limit is similar. Only difference would be in the coolers' efficiencies. Other than the reference cooler, the other 3 perform close to each other. The Zotac performs better indeed, but it's a triple slot design card. Not fitting your conditions. If you were to change that condition however, I should recommend the card I'm using, the ASUS GTX580 DCUII, it is big, but it runs cool. And OCs decently. I believe it held the world OC record before the EVGA Classified one took it.

I'm in the UK. That's a good point though qubit why would I want a ten year warrenty? I need the beeling obvious pointed out to me some times haha, thanks. I think I am worried about seeing a better option after I've already bought a card, has happened a few times with various things.

That's ok, giving advice is what we're all here for. :toast:

not so true for motherboards though XD
EVGA doesn't offer lifetime warranty, 10 year in eu, on current gen motherboards.
X58 had lifetime warranty models, not X79 nor P67/Z68 boards.

I guess that's because mobos aren't as reliable, perhaps? (They're bigger and more complicated).

I was thinking about the £70 cost difference but it looks as though the cheaper MSI could sell out and it wouldn't surprise me if the price went up on them when back in stock. If they come back at a similar price to the Gigabyte then I would probably go for the Gigabyte. They look like they run at the same temperatures but the Gigabyte has a bit more under the hood and is quieter.

Gigabyte is cooler, the fan curve is less aggressive so it actually cools much much better if you normalise the curves. Plus it is quieter

if u r lucky u can get 10years warranty with EVGA, but that depends on where in the world u r ^^

10 years is cool man,.. besides, after 8 long years, have your card replaced and for sure, the card is already obsolete and most likely they're gonna replace you with a new one. probably the current card by that time^^
