Which has better sound.....?

Which has better sound, my SoundBlaster Live! 24-Bit External, or my onboard audio for my DFI LanParty? Yeah, the SoundBlaster is a bit old, and I don't plan on upgrading that until I do a complete overhaul (hopefully soon). I just wanted to know which is better because I don't want to have an external device is the onboard is better.
