Sup fellow TPUer's, I was wondering whats a good low profile CPU cooler that doesn't cost a fortune? Im not after anything thats going to cool a mega over clocked rig or something, just something that will bring down the stock clock temps to a more reasonable temp.

Here are a few i have been looking at lately:

    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_23_845&products_id=21106

    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_23_845&products_id=8058

Will these do the job? it will be for a socket 1366 system.

Either will work just fine. If the case can manage an AIO watercooler I would go that route though. Even if you have to run a low profile fan it should still give better temps.

Cool, id say it could but i don't intend to use any water cooling units at this stage, just some basic air cooler would be fine. It will be mainly a work PC and then used for the odd game now and then if needed.

Edit: Here are the list of coolers they have for Socket 1366 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=207_23_845&vk_sort=1

As long as it can bring down the temps of a i7 to a max load of around 60c that be great.

Scythe Big Shuriken. I used to have it and it was quite nice. It performed slightly better than Intel box cooler but was way less noisy. And it was very very low profile, thanks to bundled slimmer fan.
And it was really cheap, like 30 EUR or so.

If you want to go a step higher, check Thermalright AXP-140 or Noctua NH-C14. Both can cool a 4GHz Core i7, but they cost almost twice as much as the Big Shuriken...

+1 for the Big Shuriken, I used it in a slimline build and it worked quite nice.
