Hey, my current power supply (600w) is crapping itself & im now looking at getting a new PSU in a few weeks....
• Must be modular
• Must look good
• Must be futureproof
so far the 2 i'm looking at are as follows.....
Tagan BZ 1100W ($340 including postage)
which has 6x 20A rails, which when under pressure combine to 1 single powerful rail hence combining all the amperage to all devices...
• (3) PCI-Express (6-pin)
• (3) PCI Express (6+2-pin)
3 year warranty
Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W ($409 including postage)
which had 2x 20A rails & 2x 36A rails. now i know that the thermaltake has more amps & stuff... but its all dedicated to seperate rails... plenty of amps on the rails used for GPU's but its gonna cost me atleast $70 more than the tagan.....
• (3) PCI Express (6-pin)
• (3) PCI Express (8-pin)
• (3) PCI Express Adapter (6-pin to 8-pin)
5 year warranty
*REFERRAL ADDED*
Corsair HX1000W ($359 EXcluding Postage)
which has 2x 40A rails. 1 dedicated to peripherals & the other to PCI-e/CPU/(maybe) MOBO
1 thing i didn't like about this PSU was the flat ribbon-style modular cables.
• (2) PCI-Express (6-pin)
• (2) PCI Express (6+2-pin)
• (2) PCI Express (8-pin)
5 year warranty
i believe that the stores i was looking at these in all supplied a 1year warranty. + im not all that concerned with warranty anyway... so my decision isn't going to be made over warranty.... just there for reference.
+ i have a full acrylic case which is y im steering towards the tagan.... a bit cheaper + looks funky.... & so far the reviews i've read are killer....
soon i'll probably be buying a GTX 260 & using the other components in my system specs.
please comment on what you think & i'll update this asap...
if u'd like to make any other sugestions please keep in mind that i live in australia... the best source to find prices in AUS is staticICE. so if u wanna do a little research for me go 4 it... would b greatly appreciated
Thanx guys, FD
