Which psu type to choose?

Also interested thing I found out when I was checking Corsair PSU's.

Analog versions have very long passive operation curve that goes even up to 70% PSU load until it starts the fan. Where digital versions (ending with an "i") usually fire up the fan at only 20-30% PSU load. Digital is supposedly better since power delivery is more accurate and all but damn, that turned me off quite badly. Analog units can run in absolute silence to almost full load. If you care about noise, this is very important factor.

Don't know how it is with other PSU makers, but I think they behave the same...

The VS line from Corsair is entry level PSU.

Simply put. Expect the following, and check the following after prolonged use from time to time.

- Voltage stability at loads: run a system stress test and use (for example) OCCT to check your current at load. According to the ATX spec, this should never be more than 5% off the 12.00 mark (12V line). If it is, the PSU is RMA worthy. Even budget lines should adhere to ATX standards. This is especially worth checking after prolonged use, this way you can see if power delivery degrades.

- Expect cheap caps. If ever you get in trouble with system components, open up PSU and check the capacitors for any leakage or oxidation.

As your typical load is way below max load of the PSU, it should be running fine for a long time. This is definitely a PSU that can deliver the rated amps it says on the box, so don't worry about that. But keep in mind budget components have their drawbacks, and most of them show up after a longer period of time or extreme use cases. Put it this way, you can buy stuff a lot worse than this VS650 :)

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
I never recommend opening a PSU up unless you know what you are doing. Seriously. It can kill you.

Nah. If you unplug it and discharge its capacitors prior opening it, you'll be fine. But yeah, some electrical knowledge doesn't hurt.

If you can replace or repair the fan in PSU's that's already a lot. And it's something worthy to be able to fix yourself. My fan in HX750 was clicking from new and I couldn't be bothered RMA-ing it and waiting for unit to return so I've just replaced the fan myself with high quality one. Tiny bit of re-soldering the wire and voila :D It's now the quietest PSU I've ever seen/heard.
