    radeon 38x0 is cheaper on you power bill :p
    and it decodes full 1080p HD DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in hardware

    I think of it this way. the 8800gt is a great card out of box. While the 38xx is under. But, with all the "Driver" updates that are going to come out, I believe that the 38xx is going to be the better card. Driver updates, is what is going to make this "war" end.
    But as on which card. I believe that the any 38xx is going to be the key

    If you can guarantee to get the 8800GT, then get it. If not get the 3850. That's the one issue I have with the 8800GT, the lack of stock currently.

    Everyone is getting that.. The cards are so new that its not able to stay on the store shelves for long time. I don't think until around Christmas will they even be able to hold more than 40 for a day or so.

    id say wait for official update drivers for the ati cards before deciding but if the money is burning a hole in your pocket I would have to recommend the 8800.

    the fact is 38x0 shipping drivers arnt final, so performace can be better when catalyst 7.11 comes and catalyst 8.1 will have quad fire support to :p
