Which Sound Card Is The Best

I am about to buy a sound card and was debating between the creative x-fi titanium fatality, ht omega claro, and ht omega claro plus. I heard that the creative fatality has buggy drivers for win 7 64. I am running win 7 64 and watch alot of movies and want the best sound card out that has no buggy drivers.

It really depends on what you plan to hook up to the card. Analog speakers, just pure digital to an amp, or maybe good headphones?

If movies are your deal then forget the X-fi since it's designed for gaming and their drivers are garbage.

The HT Omegas are definitely the best you picked out. The Omega Claro Plus is awesome.

as far i know asus xonar essence stx is one of the best you can get for consumers

supports EAX 5 etc, profesional level chips

I have the Omega claro halo using W7 x64 and it's awesome. you said you're planning to use it for movies and it's geared towards that dept. I use my card for headphones and digital audio to my theater and it sounds great. The z5500 has and optical input so you'd be best using that from the card.. which should come with a toslink cable since mine did.

Since you are into the movie category. Why are some 320kbps mp3 sound softer than 192kbps mp3. I also can't figure out why I can't add a couple of my mp3 music to the itunes. It plays perfectly well in windows media player. But when I try to play it through itunes it just doesn't pop up in the list. I know that 320 kbps mp3 are better quality but what does it really do? O yea and what is the sample rate for. The omega claro has 192khz and some other sound card has 92 khz. I'm guessing more is better? Sorry to go off topic. Thx again.

yea, ALL of my music with higher bitrates sound softer than my lower bitrate ones.... weird

The xfi cards seem to be ok cant really speek for anything else dont really try anything else i like creative they tend to work on all platforms out of the box .
