wow, well over 2000 Posts in this thread... it could go on forever you know as talking to obama supporters is like trying to talk sense into a brick wall.

The only way a Republican could do anything in this political climate is to convince the Democrats of the House and Senate to play along. Palin seems to be more of the Bush type: My way or the highway. As such, if Palin did become President, it would have little impact. Palin would veto every bill that was pro-abortion and the House/Senate would override it. Palin, in effect, would just slow the process down and not change anything.

Which in and of itself could be a good thing. Slowing things down in Washington could slow the slide of our tax dollars and our children's legacy down the big flushing socialist toilet that our current congress is...

I was certainly being dramatic. Of course she couldn't make this happen, though I'd guess she would think about it. It's all about knowing who these people are when no one is watching or listening.

Just because she's anti abortion does not make her the Kook that the democrats make her out to be. She's a hard working middle class mom, but because she did not come up through the ranks of feminazis or the channels of the democrat party, well, she's just EVIL.

I did a blind vote. I stood in the poll, closed my eyes, spun the ballot around and put the pencil down on it. It came up with... Ralph Nader. I then realized my blind vote didn't work at all and I did a coin flip. Tails won!!!

I am not a democrat and i think she is a kook, whatever that means, but it's gotta be bad so it's good by me!..................although to be fair, truly fair, she reminds me of Ugly betty on steroids, without the teeth architecture of course.

Lol, NEVER! I think this election is going to be pretty close. Honestly, that isn't the way it happened, though through blind fate, it worked out according to my voting record. I based my decision off of my own morality and feelings, and listening to people. I have voted in a Presidential election four times now. The order has been Democrat(Clinton) , Republican(Bush), Republican(Bush), and now... (mind you I love balance) Fill in the blank ___________. I don't like any one power or party being in office for too long.

Well, that lament is laudable - about people not voting for a person because of their color - but there are people out there who are voting for him ONLY BECAUSE of his color, which is just as ignorant and 'racist'.

I've said before, he could be the purple martian people eater, for all I care. His skin tone has nothing to do with my vote - it's his class warfare rhetoric / wealth envy pablum and his socialistic policies that put my vote firmly in McCain (though politically I'm more Ron Paul...)

Where I am in TN, I honestly don't see much "reverse racism", but I still see many older white people look at black people like they are going to steal their wallet or purse.

I live in Oklahoma, and yes us younger people it is more gone, and for the good. It is still there just not as extreme as older white people. Older white people I think still remember the old days, and that they know it is wrong to think that way. That's why they hide their views to everyone else.

But if you are watching a game with a group of people WITH older people it will be said here and there. Black jokes come out, all of it. The hate is still there, and will always be there until they are all dead. Then us as a younger generation will die out, and maybe then it will all be gone.

For the most it is not talked about all the time....only if something happened, or is happening they don't agree with is when it comes out.


You have to remember I grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma(Known as the oil capital) , and that black and white people did not really live in the same place in the older days.

It has never been determined with any certainty whether the two young people were acquainted, but it seems reasonable that they knew each other at least by sight, as this building was the only one nearby with a washroom that Rowland had express permission to use, and that the elevator operated by Page was the only one in the building.

In the most generally accepted account, Rowland tripped upon entering the elevator and, in an effort to prevent himself from falling, grabbed the arm of Page, who subsequently let out a startled gasp or scream. However, it has been suggested that the two had a quarrel, and it was believed that the young lady was assaulted.

A clerk at Renberg's, a clothing store located on the first floor of the Drexel, heard what sounded like a woman's scream and observed a young black man hurriedly leaving the building. Upon rushing to the elevator, the clerk found Miss Page in what he perceived to be a distraught state. The clerk reached the conclusion that the young woman had been assaulted and subsequently summoned the authorities.

Let's say if you were coloured too, and with the same cars, etc., do you think the people who broke into your car would have spared you on the grounds of your "being of the same colour?" Nope. Racial malice is not what drives them, greed (sometimes necessities, desperate times, w/e) is what drove them, the things which drive almost any criminal.

It's your right to do that.
My point is that I don't look at color when judging someone, but I do judge them by their actions. Those "gentlemen" who broke into our vehicles happened to be black. They happened to be thugs. I'd think no better of THUGS if they were white, green or magenta.

On the other side of the coin however, life goes on. You can infract me if you wish, but I'll persist in my belief that nobody (not me, you, or anyone else) has a right to "not be offended". Things that bother people happen all the time, every day. And, we deal.

My point exactly. But yes, there are people "of color" in the united states who feel "whitey" owes them. Even obama has said it. "If [black] nationalism could create a strong and effective insularity, deliver on its promise of self-respect, then the hurt it might cause well-meaning whites, or the inner turmoil it caused people like me, would be of little consequence."
