 Ok perhaps that's what the elite WANT to believe to keep control over the masses. It's nonsense.

    That is debatable.

True -- the "masses" actually voted for Al Gore in 2000, if you want to look at it that way.

And to further that line of thought, the "masses" are really subject to the "elite" (or the electoral college in this case), so it was in fact the elite that voted him in, or in truth, every president (that is if in fact the system is not as corrupt as most of politics and not subject to tampering, a rather long shot imo).

Ive decided to share something with all of you that my father sent me, A 48 year old accomplished pilot (with over 5000 Hours) and an accomplished avionic tech who has owned several successful business's. He is successful and one of the most intelligent people i have ever know my entire life. This is what he sent me, And he let me know to really read it. I will now share it with you.

    A pilots perspective on Obama

    DO I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT?
HIS FATHER WAS A BLACK AFRICAN MUSLIM FROM KENYA. WE HAVE SEEN
    PICTURES OF HIS AFRICAN FAMILY.

HIS MOTHER WAS A WHITE AMERICAN ATHEIST FROM KANSAS. WHERE ARE THE
    PICTURES OF HIS AMERICAN FAMILY?

HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER WHEN HE WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND
WENT BACK TO AFRICA BY WAY OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WAS HIS FATHER
    WEALTHY?

HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND THEN MOVED TO JAKARTA
WHERE HE WAS ENROLLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL .

WHEN HE REACHED HIGH SCHOOL AGE HIS MOTHER SENT HIM TO HAWAII TO BE
WITH HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS AND HE WAS PUT INTO AN EXPENSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL.
HE LATER WENT TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WERE HIS GRANDPARENTS RICH?

HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION HOUSE OBTAINED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A
    WEALTHY FUNDRAISER. HOW?

HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO . HE HAS NEVER
HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB OR RECEIVED A PAY CHECK THAT WAS NOT GOVERNMENT-FUNDED
    AND/OR TAXPAYER SUPPORTED.

THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POSITION, NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES; ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WON'T CUT IT.

HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL
    WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.

HE IS PROUD OF HIS 'AFRICAN HERITAGE' (A FATHER WHO GOT A WHITE GIRL
    PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER).

WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS 'WHITE HERITAGE'? (A MOTHER WHO FLAUNTED
CONVENTION AND DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD).

SOME MIGHT THINK THERE WAS NOT MUCH TO BE PROUD OF EITHER WAY.

HE BELONGS, AND HAS BELONGED FOR OVER 20 YEARS, TO AN
'AFRO-CENTRIC' CHURCH IN CHICAGO THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES
AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD'S PERCEIVED FAULTS. (INCLUDING CREATING THE
AIDs VIRUS IN ORDER TO INFLICT IT ON AFRICANS).

HE REPEATEDLY WHITEWASHES THE PASTOR, HIS CHURCH AND THE MEMBERS WHO
CHEERED AFTER HEARING VITRIOLIC TIRADES AGAINST AMERICA .

HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE CAN
CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN ?
    YEAH RIGHT!!

DURING HIS VERY BRIEF TIME IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE, HE HAS
MANAGED TO AMASS THE NUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE
    HUNDRED MEMBERS.

HE HAS VOTED CONSISTENTLY FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT AND HIGHER TAXES. HE
HAS VOTED FOR BIG ENTITLEMENTS AND LEGISLATION THAT WOULD SEVERELY CURTAIL
AMERICA'S ABILITY TO FIGHT TERRORISM AND TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS AND OUR
    NATIONAL INTERESTS AROUND THE WORLD.

BUT, HE IS A GOOD ORATOR. ISN'T THAT A COMFORT?

YEAH, I THINK I SEE HOW WELL HE COULD UNITE THE COUNTRY.

I THINK THE TRUTH IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL PUT THE PIECES
    TOGETHER.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR NEW CHIEF PILOT,
HE HAS NEVER FLOWN AN AIRPLANE, IN FACT HE HAS NEVER EVEN SAT IN THE
COCKPIT, BUT HE SAYS HE HAS RIDDEN ON PLANES BEFORE. WE ARE SURE HE
WILL GUIDE US SAFELY THROUGH THE STORMS WE MAY ENCOUNTER ON THIS
    FLIGHT.

PEOPLE WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD THE STORY ABOUT
THE WOLF HIDING IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING SO HE CAN DESTROY THEM FROM WITH-IN? THE
HAND WRITING IS ON THE WALL, DO YOU NOT HAVE EYES TO SEE IT?

THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU VOTE FOR THIS GUY! CONSIDER YOUR KIDS
& GRANDKIDS THEIR FUTURE IS IN OUR VOTING HANDS.

Your father may be a cool guy, but all I could think of when I was reading that was this (that I've posted before):

It's the same old fear-mongering, by the sounds of it.

Also, emails with all caps are not cool.

EDIT: And being a pilot doesn't make you an expert on geo-political theory, last time I checked. :shadedshu

do you think the majority of our society could choose the best computer in the world given two to choose from?probably not. they would most likely choose the one that looks and or sounds the best regardless of what's inside. why? because the majority of people don't have the intelligence on the subject needed to make an educated choice.just like choosing a politician.most of us don't know enough to make an educated choice but the "majority rules" is the best we have so we must deal with it but it doesn't change the fact that the majority of us are not experts on politics.

I still don't get it. So what if Obama has Muslim roots? America is not a Christian nation. It's a secular state. Why are some people so intolerant to Islam, while expecting Muslims to be tolerant to them (and forcing them to be, by waging wars in that part of the world)?

America was founded on Christian Values and religious freedom, so yeah, that is true. I couldnt tell you if we were ever tolerant of Muslims, that religion has been around for a very long time. I could only tell you what I know from history and stuff and that is probably biased.

Ill tell yall what, Im so tired of hearing about troll this, troll that, facts this, facts that, sources, sources, sources. It seems to me that when someone bashes Obama, a few tend to get defensive, mad and resort to name calling.

McCain isnt the best the republicans have to offer, but republican voters chose him (Thanks God they didnt choose the Liar, Romney). Obama is in no way a great candidate. He charms me with his :silver: tongue, but his policies and two facedness isnt reassuring to me.

Also, dont knock a man for just putting an email his father sent him out for us to read. That is distasteful.

If Obama wins (and polls are pretty much wrong, and most media is democratic bias) then we will see how good or how bad he screws it up. Perhaps a rookie is something we need in the white house. Personally Im still voting for Palin

because we're a nation of intolerant/ignorant people with a superiority complex

i honestly don't know why people care so damn much that obama has Muslim roots, really WHO GIVES A SHIT, big deal if he has a Muslim background, he's a christian now so why should it matter
it's not like any one religion is superior to any other...

Amen to that. I used the word "shrewed" to describe him in the primaries. He's a businessman always looking for the best deal. Knowing the economy tanked and Obama got the nomination, Romney would have been in a very good position to win this thing. The political landscape went half under water so quickly this year. :(

Lol, I am pretty sure, 10,000,000 people out there could write something fairly similar and equally damming about McCain and many other politicians, I like this logic many of you use, the way I read it (non American and un-biased) if let's say for this example, a Republican supporter wrote it.......

"Let's ignore the fact our candidate is a total buffoon who appears to have no idea's, certainly no carisma, who's policies appear to give more of what you have had for the last 8 years (and thats not a lot from where I am watching), so lets not even mention politics because our guy quite frankly is totally hopeless, hopefully noone will notice if we dont talk politics that we dont know politics, then we can concentrate on the oppositions family, religion, empoyment and whatever else is irrelivent to the sound running of a GREAT country such as yours, lets employ some no hope "has been" instead, hey because he also goes to church.....ohhhh the right Church, with the right family members and yes, once upon a time he even had a job!"

Those comments were not aimed at you specifically, it just seems that many Americans generally dont care about who is the best person to lead their great country, they are more concerned about who someone had a beer with last year and whether his Grandmother went to Church on Wednesdays......thats clearly evident from the guy you voted in the last two times!.............................Please forgive the rant, as I said in a previous post, by nature I have always tended to lean toward the Republic camps.....but people, please, if you cant do any better than GWB and this guy....stay at home!

Ohhhhh and by the way, I too am 48, not sure if I am as intelligent as your Dad as I dont know him, I certainly am not as skilled as he! I always wanted to be a PIlot, became a soldier/officer instead......I liked to see "the white's of their eyes"!

Thats just the point......he might as well be! (and that really is why he will lose)Again thats not a personal opinion, thats a perception that I have got from what to be fair, might be innacurate coverage by the British Media, non of my comments come from my heart, just what I see with my eyes from 5000 miles away.

Exactly and honestly, Obama probably isnt the best person to lead this country. We are kind of screwed with the two candidates running. Lets face, Nader is a hater :haha: sorry he isnt worth the election and Ron Paul wont win it.....

There's a few reasons for that...
    -Bush's poor approval rating.
    -Media bias leaning liberal.
-Obama campaign and Democrats in general have an obsession with saying the words eight, four, and Bush--Obama himself included.
-Congress's poor approval ratings weigh into it to.
-Bush is getting blamed for the sub-prime mortgage collapse (right or wrong is a different issue).

It all ads up to it being a very Democratic climate this year--perhaps the most in history. I mean, if Clinton got the nomination, I am confident it would not matter who was running on the Republican side because she would be running in the 60% range the entire time. Most Republicans are happy Obama got the nomination because he is someone they can beat. ;)

So you think McCain is a strong and solid candidate with all the skills necessary to lead your country? because at the end of the day, when he loses, you can blame as many factors as you like....HE has still lost, and despite what you say, probably because the majority think he is incapable of running your great country effectively.

I know of no better candidate to lead right now. It has already been demonstrated in polling that few poeple even care what McCain says. It is not clear why they don't listen to him.

With the media playing only GOOD stuff about OBAMA, and only BAD (and FALSE) stuff about McCain / Palin, well, I'm surprised it's so close as it is.

Obama gave himself away the other day..."When you spread the wealth around it's a good thing..." Marxist!

Actually, if the people were paying attention, the Congress's approval ratings would sway the people to the republican side.

But the media have swept that under the rug too. Then they blame the economy on BUSH, when it's the seeds sown by Clinton finally coming to root...
