I'm pretty sure what both consoles are going to be hardware-wise. I just want to know how much DRM/Crap is going to be involved and how much they will want customers to pay for online services on top of what they already pay their ISP's. Maybe I'll buy another console to collect dust in my living room. Dunno...

I am interested in the speculation on how it will effect pc gaming, then how it actually effected pc gaming. Like how a supposed 8 core console is speculated to make game more multithreaded.

I'm more concerned about the launch of the replacement for the 360, since that is the platform that more often determines the quality of ports we get on PC, since more games are made on it than any other system.

no need anymore since the ps4 will have 8gb of ram and a x86 processor so now it can be ported much easier to the pc like it was from the 360

It has more to do with than just hardware. The 360 editor is the easiest to use. While I applaud Sony for adding some needed changes, I'm always skeptical about them. They always tend to make things difficult somehow, if not on the hardware/software end, in the licensing and marketing end. Besides, we all know MS has a track record of getting WAY more developement than Sony, and it's going to take more than mere getting up to speed on hardware for Sony to entice those devs over to their side.

if rumors are true the pc community wont want ports from a 720 since the ps4 has so much better hardware (according to rumored specs) which makes the port fro mps4 to pc a better one for graphics

LOL, not to mock anyone for such hopes, but since when does what the PC community want have any bearing on game development anymore? We're now seeing top AAA titles like Dead Space 3 selling only 4% of their copies on PC. We take what they give us, and in many cases, get nothing. More and more devs are going console only.

this wont be the case with a x86 architecture coming from the new xbox and ps4 porting will be easier, even games console specific and then later down the road being ported to pc will be better for the pc community then a ps3 port or 360 because there wont be a huge need to dumb down the console version...

I think you missed the part where I detailed the sales attrition problem on PC though. That has to get a lot higher for devs to maintain much interest in porting to PC at all. Aside from that, no matter how powerful console hardware gets, it's still a fair bit of work to port to PC properly regarding control schemes, graphics options and bug testing alone. You add to that minuscule sales compared to the console platforms and there's not much incentive even with hardware that's more up to the task.

The PS4's "better hardware" amount to faster ram. This is just like the ps3 vs 360 for memory. They go faster ram, MS goes with a large and fast cache. Otherwise the consoles have specs so similar it's like they're the same thing. Porting between consoles and PCs will be so easy this gen.

Anyone else laugh when they showed the move bar? Just give up already.

according to rumors the ps4 has better everything memory speed memory size better gpu unknown about cpu though so they wont be even be close to like it was in 2006, the 720 having a 768 core amd gpu and the ps4 having a 1152... so much more room for the ps4 to make better graphical games

Just saw the new Killzone and um.......not impressed and I don't have much hope for anything better. Sad day for gaming but I knew it was gonna happen. I was just hoping I was wrong.......I wasn't.

So you thought Killzone their flagship FPS was acceptable graphically for a next generation console and Drive Club was better than anything on the PC for a racing simulator?

Seeing these graphics it might as well be. We are so screwed.

Your rumors suck and are old.

When I saw Killzone I understood what Crytek meant when they said Crysis 3 looks better on PC than on next gen. We've already been there in Crysis 2. And that driving game was disappointing, but I'm sure long running studios will get more out of the consoles.

I sadly can't watch the livestream (night shift), so I rely on a news ticker. I don't know guys, there's nothing that made me go "wow" yet. The controller looks pretty childish, to be honest. The move bar... I don't know if its used right it could be good but... I don't know.

Also, all that socialising crap, who needs that.

Oh and oddly, no mention of an optical drive yet. x86 architecture and internal HDD are fine and dandy but what about the medium the games are on?

well its a fact drive club is the best graphical driving simulator.... just wait for the launch trailer without a buggy stream killzone.... I didn't really pay attention to much because I can go to crisis 3 and I have skyrim with 4k res mods on it but definitely the drive club is not rivaled right now
