And I don't care about just that. When I'm the consumer me, I don't have a thumb on the pulse of the industry, expecting the moon out of companies, I expect the best for my money at a given time. Right now, the HD 7970 is the best card there is, for my money. It's the fastest single-GPU, it has exceptionally good power characteristics (which is a definite fruition of the new silicon fab process), there ends the story. There's nothing better than HD 7970 that I can buy with my $500-ish I set aside for a graphics card.

And well, I don't care. I'm not going to deprive myself a gorgeous graphics experience in my games for months just because there's "a little something better" out there. I don't even know if it's better to begin with, it's just something else that's out there.

So? I don't believe you on that, period. Even if you trully think that's what you think, I know you are "lying". If you really wanted that kind of performance for that kind of price, you would have been using a GTX580 for over a year now or a HD6970 if that was your brand preference. You wouldn't be using an HD6870. Your actions give you away on this one.

2.) You're saying that rape and murder are meaningless.

What the hell do you not understand about the following words?

is in fact just that and both are horrific.

Do my words imply in any way shape or form that rape and murder are meaningless? No. I said quite clearly they are both horrific.

You alluded to them being "just goddamned acts against one person" by way of countering my objection to your distress over the 7970 and my point of worrying about more serious things.

Rape and murder are acts against one person. My point was pedantic but correct.

And like i said - they are horrific. (Which you somehow construe to mean i find them meaningless - how on earth did you come up with that?)

No, I'm not constantly in the market for a graphics card. I save up for things, I have about $500 to spend now. Your counter argument to that was...let's see...telling people that I'm "lying" because I didn't have a $500-worth graphics card already?

THE SAME THING I GOT LAST YEAR.

F*cking morons.

Last years 480->580 swap

Last years 5870-6970 swap

This years 6970-7970 swap

Now correct me if I am wrong, but GTX480->GTX580 11% performance increase, 5870-6970 12% performance increase are BOTH SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER than the 6970-7970 30% bump.

Yeah, that was shitty.

But considering it was still on 40nm, I just say "meh."

Now, @ 28nm.. No excuse!

You do understand being at 28nm offers zero performance gains vs being at 130nm correct? Size doesn't matter in regards of performance.

My point is that if you have $500 set aside for a graphics card and you trully go for what's best in the market for that price you would have done it already. Or you were waiting for HD7970, so you were in fact waiting for that "something" that might or might not be worthy of your money. Either way you are lying to yourself and everybody else.

They can't not be nothings when they're imaginary.

Numbers are imaginary, they're not physical in any way.

Or if you're referring to something that isn't "Real" in the sense of cerebral perception, I'd say you're insulting The Simpsons.

Because I'm not in the market for a faster CPU to begin with.

Yeah, that's what I thought you would say.

Yeah, you're the oracle, whatever you say boss.

I add installments of $100 at the end of each month to my "get new high-end graphics card" piggy bank, and I was saving for a high-end graphics card. What now, Captain Assumption?

Hmm.. No.

Qubit's editorially eclectic (sorry dude ;)) and you've still not explained your comment about me saying rape was meaningless.

Damn.. need to go pick up pressies from post office. Going to miss this debacle.

Oh wow!! I didn't know this. I'm sure my mortgage company didn't know this ether! I guess I can stop paying it now.

Really man its the top card right now. A lil over priced IMO but the best money can buy. I know it hurts fan boys to lose the crown. But they will have a second chance again here soon. Thats the way this works. Making threads QQing about it not having a 50% over a 15% increase is like asking if butt rape is better then face rape. Its rape and you must accept it. Just relax and let it happen. It will be your turn soon.

Hmm so what a coincidence. You've been saving and you just now have $500, just in time. Wow. You bought a HD6870 for less than $200 I guess, but now you are for a $500 card and just now. You were totally not saving up for the HD7970, not at all. It just happened. Some months ago you could have bought the HD6970, but you didn't, last month you would have enough for a GTX 580, but you didn't. You could have started saving up a few months earlier, or later. But no, it's now, right now, you cant even wait a few more months to see how the HD 7870 fares or Kepler card. It's now or nothing, $500 or nothing. OK. Mr. Coincidence.

Kepler is imaginary, Kepler doesn't exist. It's could be somewhere in the bowels of NVIDIA, but it doesn't exist, it was never tested, nothing.

To have the audacity to exclaim that "Kepler will be faster and better than HD 7970" based on nothing, no performance numbers, no power-testing numbers, nothing....now that's insulting other people's intellect.

Yeah, that's what I thought you would say.

Then you knew you made a futile argument to make yourself look smart.

Me and Qubit are the only rational people here.

Yeah, join forces and make more "rational people" like yourselves. Go save the world together.
